i taught economics to jake spencer this year at BBC. he is a handsome, figure-gifted young man, who gets many hours of beauty sleep by constantly sleeping in class. he never ceases to attract the attention of other boys in the class though, particularly the strapping young lad he sits next to. constantly engaging in conversation, where i cant help but get the vibe that the smaller bloke is trying to be more than friends, one day hoping to mooch off of young jake.

but more on jake, a delightful prospect, a definite brownlow medal candidate for 2011, and it would not surprise me in the slightest if he won rookie of the year next year. a definite first round option.

i look forward to seeing him in the dee's footy shorts next year.

Yours truly,

The Hore

I don't think you could have possibly worded that any different to the person that you claim to be.

Haha, trying to claim yourself as Peter Horeczyj, haha.

Nothing personal but when giving a sum up of a player, how bout putting something in that is actually truthful... maybe... that usually helps.

Definite brownlow prospect..... Rookie of the year..... definite first round selection..... Come on!

Firstly he has been injured and whilst he did have a couple of good games for QLD this year he is no certainty to be picked up.

He has no guarantee that he will picked by the dee's although his interview with the QLD based recruiting scout went very well.

Most likely rookie or a late pick to stop Brisbane claiming him with a rookie when they get prior selection on QLD prospects if we were to pick him up.

i have been a closet demons supporter for many decades now son, dont you try and tell me what i do and dont know. as for jake 'the snake' spencer, the opportunity cost for him to be drafted is high, particularly with interest rates rising again today and the exchange rate improving remarkably against the greenback. without some serious government intervention in the near future, the economy will continue to slide into the trenches, pathing the way for jake to unleash his massive punting potential into the realms of the nfl and further beyond.

Haha, classic....

Still not sold though...

However, I am not going to bag any fellow demon supporter so I will leave it at that.

High-quality input in any facet of the club means more than any trivial arguments over identities of anonymous posters on a supporter site.

Did you happen to see any of his games for BBC before he got injured?

who the bloody hell is number 16? do you go to bbc as well?

jake spencer is going to be the next dean cox. he has a boxing background, swiftest right hook for a left-hander this side of the nullabor, knows his way around the streets. dont be surprised if a rugby league side picks him up either, he is a phenomenal 5/8 for his size (received 1-1 coaching from thurston last holidays), more suited to the 3rd row though. also a talented basketball player, so the world is definitely an oyster at his feet.

just like the old saying goes, you might be able to outplay him, but you definitely cant outdrink him. i seen him down 4 beers in a beer-bong once, a magnificent feat, not to mention the fact that it was also raining at the time.

Well, I'd like to personally welcome the Spencer family to Demonland but I have a feeling that with Jake's undoubted beer guzzling talents, the scum out at Collingwood might beat us to him with their first pick in the draft.

I actually know him personally and know that he is meeting with the QLD based Dee's recruiting guy this week.

Is an absolutely top bloke. Very tall and very big.

Has been injured this year though which means we could possibly rookie him or use a late pick

wow u pulled this one pretty well No16!

good job

Like the sound of Spencer. If No. 16's comments are anything to go by, he seems to have a pretty good attitude and perhaps some leadership potential.

The fact that he was injured this year most likely contributed to him being overlooked in the national draft - hopefully we have landed a bargain.

Considering the Melbourne footy club's great record with players from the rookie draft (Robbo, JMac, Flash), I have high hopes for this young guy.

Absolutely rapt that we picked up Jake. He has a lot of develpment to go but has the mindset to be something huge. He is already big for his age and with the extra weights training and conditioning that he will recieve should form a body close to that of an Ottens type.

Let's hope he's better than Trevor Spencer!!!!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
