Melbourne appears to be almost certain of getting John Meesen. If that's the case, we have White, Jamar, Johnson and Meesen. The question is this: where do you see things going? Obviously White will retire soon, but I doubt whether Melbourne will be able to hold 3-4 ruckmen on their list so they will either delist one, or one will leave. What are your takes?

Spewing we let Jolly go.

Spewing we let Jolly go.

Darren wanted to go mate.

Thought he deserved the number one ruck spot.

I bet he's spewing 'Spider' joined the Swans also.

Anyway, yeah I agree to a point but 4 ruckman isn't that bad a deal as Johnson was more a forward in his junior career.

I think he will have some time up forward.

Jamar will play 2nd ruckman for most of the year. Meesen is good & I see why everyone on here keeps raving about him but Jamar will not go without a fight.

I just admit that I like Jamar, I think he has a lot of potential. He's only problem is he's kicking. He's heart is in the right spot.

I think the mods should pull this post down, potential is the rudest word in the English language.

If I played for Melbourne my heart would be in the right place too. He's a hack.

Dunn will be better than Jolly. Believe me when i say that

no chance, dunn is very average, couldnt keep a key postion, trying him as a run with midfielder, wont last long! Doesnt have pace and isnt hard enough at it!

Dunn has good skills but I share your concerns about his longevity as a midfielder who won't put his body on the line.

Dunn was dropped for the exact reason of hardness, then brought back into the side to play midfield at the end of the year, where he excelled. I have a lot of faith in him and I reckon he will be a super player for us.

We won't be holding the '4' in '3-4' since White will retire soon, as you state.

That leaves three rucks on our list, none of whom have cemented a second-ruck spot, let alone a first-ruck spot.

Who knows if one of them will be up to scratch, let alone two or three.

Meesen would be tried in more possies than ruck alone. He is FIT, and he is FAST for his size. I can see him floating back or forward if our depth is tested, something we cannot really do with Jamar, and something that White can no longer do as well in his twilight years.

PJ will be run in the ruck most often, along with Jamar. I can see white being rested forward more as his career winds down.

If you go to BigFooty here (hope this works) : Meesen you'll find that some Crow-supporting chap has kindly put some pics of our new recruit in action playing for Norwood. He looks a big unit.

The Crow / Norwood supporter is a Meesen fan - he appears to be very much in the minority among Crow supporters but I guess that's to expected. Everyone instantly becomes a hack when they leave your club.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
