Just driving home from work here in Adelaide and listening to KG on 5aa.... The only station that has a sports drive show....

They are spewing at the fact that Melbourne are guaranteed to get John Meesan!

The reason they are spewing..... Adelaide have only been offered a 3rd or 4th round draft pick!!!

LOL..... Well done to the MFC trading team.... Now lets just rub it in and give them the 4th rounder!!!

Great pick-up in trade week if you ask me!!!

As a matter of interest, what did we get for Thommo? Was it Beamer? perhaps it is payback time if we got zippo

4th round or PSD sounds good, but you have to keep in mind that we don't want to burn our bridges with other clubs by screwing them over.

I think a 3rd round pick for a player who has played a grand total of 2 matches is a fair deal, especially given that we could get him for nothing. We are basically doing Adelaide a favour by giving them anything.

They should take it and run.

From memory I think we got West Coast's first round pick, West Coast got Stenglein from Adelaide and the rainbows on legs got Thompson. We later traded our original first round pick to the Cats for Beamer. Correct me if i'm wrong

yeah, which i think was pick 12 from memory. not a bad deal but i felt thompson was worth a little more given he was a high draft pick to begin with and we had put 4 years into him. might be time the crows bent over a little.

imo Rys shaw is overly maligned...he has huge pace and has the ability to rack up 30 touches off the half back...

with Ward and Brown gawn, Shaw would have a place in our team at half back. we could use his pace also...

but even so, i would trade Johnstone for pick14 alone, so Shaw would just be a bonus...

if would could get pick 14 and a second rounder, that would be perfect

The Adelaide crows would be spewing over the loss of a 20c piece! Seriously, Meeson has done nothing over there, and has made it clear he wants to move on.

Sure they used pick 8 on him years ago, but he has not ocme along.

Meeson is a good idea for us, but the crows need to get what they can for him, and a pick in the late 30s is fair enough for a guy who has played 1 senior game of footy.

Would LOVE to claim him for free in the PSD. Would be even sweeter if he turned out ot be the next Dean Cox!

Its not like we're trying to double cross the crows !! theyve known all along what they might get !!

Dont forget that this draft is said to have the best tallent and numbers for ruckman. SOmething like 14 ruckman occupy this draft. If crows want pick in 1st or 2nd, then in the words of Darroll Cerigan "there dreaming". He in my opinion is worth at the bare minimum a 3rd rounder. Otherwise lets start from stratch and get a ruckman through the draft. Kruezer may be out but there are plenty of other players and this should be the year we focus on fixing our ruck due to the 14 ruckman running around. With the other picks...lets try to get Palmer (god i hope TJ gets traded for a 1st rounder to get a FB potentual) and CHF and midfield. Perhaps hold off getting a CHF till next year tho

The annoying thing about the Thompson trade was that we all knew how good he was going to be. Before injuries set in, his form in 2004 was awesome. Geelong supporters may have felt the same way about Maloney. I think he improved alot after moving from Geelong, just a shame he's missed so many games.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
