Kepler Bradley

Was mentioned on 927 and adam white that the Demons were interested in Kepler.

Why would we be interested in another unskilled player....

He has struggled for a game at essendon, his skills are suspect as is his decision making...

the only thing that he would have going for him is youth!!

927 evidently don't know their [censored] from their earholes. They seem to think that Brocky is out of contract and unhappy, and set to walk in the Pre-season draft if he can't get a trade. Which is 100% unmitigated rubbish.

I sincerely doubt we are interested in Bradley. If we get him, however, once again I will be livid. Unless he comes bundled with pick 6, which is not going to happen, since Essendon have acknowledged that they are shot and need to rebuild.

could not believe that comment re Brock... Richmond too!! spare me!

adam white trying to be hutchy or chris jones! drinks from a saucer - cat!

All the flogs will be jumping to conclusions because hes been slapped on the wrist for his European escapades. Typical of those with nothing to report to sensationalise the situation. The fact is that Brock is loyal to a fault (likely what got him into trouble overseas) and he knows he is a lay-down misere to get the captaincy in a year or 2, if he can show any sort of form.

Kepler Bradley has struggled at Essendon but has he ever been played at full-back? I think that is a position he might be able to play quite well. If the price is right I'd have a go at him.

I posted something about Brocky nearly a month ago regarding Richmond.

Looks like that same info may have been linked to this journo. However, I doubt very much that this guy has heard anything, instead he is just going on what he saw in the paper today.

NO! I've seen a fair bit of him play. He has extremely poor decision making skills and hasn't been able to compete forward or back at AFL level, I think we should stay away from him

Reporter to MFC: "Any interest in Kepler Bradley?"

MFC: "We'll look at anyone who can improve our list"

Reporter jots in notebook ... "MFC interested in Kepler Bradley".

HAHA!

He's so unhappy that he's going to China next week with a group of young players on some sort of a leadership tour.

FFS, these journalists are getting worse and worse!

Chris Heffernan > Kepler Bradley

Please stop trading with Essendon, PLEASE!

You would have to look at Bradley

I think he was taken the pick after Brock in the 2003 draft

Her has talent, and he is a big boy. Could be aversatile ruckman, or hold down a key defensive position

I dont think he is as bad as everyone thinks

He would be worth a punt, Players can turn it around at new clubs take this year EX Freo Pollack to the Tigers and Rodan from the Tigers to Power, its just a question on who is the best option.

i was lookin at a similar thread on big footy.. there was a post that i thought was quite funny

"kepler is like miller, but without the potential"

if its someone talented ie,Davey , we will talk

what does ash like of kepler? would we want him? would you want to keep?

i suspect he is worth more to you than what we would be willing to pay. but if you wanted to cut your losses cause u really didnt rate him it could be a chance...

I think he is more chance of making it as a defender than a forward. Perhaps may have gotten more opportunities in the backline for Essendon if they didn’t have both Fletcher and Michael. Although he did win the best and fairest for Bendigo Bombers playing mostly forward, topped their goalkicking

I’d give him a go. Would be happy to pick him up for a 3rd rounder.

Essendon asking for a first-round pick is laughable

I don't rate Kepler, never have.

One thing I would say, is that in his 49 senior games, he has probably played 4 or 5 really good AFL standard games. And all of them would have been as a forward.

Because we have had Lucas, Lloyd, Hird, even Courtney Johns as preferred key forwards, he has been forced to play key defensive positions, and he just ain't up to it.

As a junior, he played on a wing, and could out run opponents who were as big as him, or out mark opponents who were smaller than him. But in the AFL, he isn't quick enough or strong enough to do either.

Another club might get more out of him, but I'm probably the wrong bloke to ask cos I have never thought he would ever make it as an AFL player. Others might see more in him.

Ash, have the Bombers ever played him in the ruck? He played as a ruckman in the Teal Cup, though he was playing as a wingman for his WAFL club. And is he under contract?

Personally, if he's out of contract, i'd take him in the psd, and develop him as a ruckman. He's mobile, and has a better skill base than either Jamar or Johnson.

Can't remember him playing ruck for Essendon too much. He might be able to compete with a Josh Fraser or Jeff White type ruckman, but the bigger ruckmen would just push him aside.

Not sure of his contract status.

I watched a lot of the championships the year Bradley came through. In my opinion he was the best player in them. Ash is spot on he played as a wingman and was sensational but there just isn't a spot for 6 foot 6 wingmen in the AFL.

I would be interested but the price would be too high.

Ash... has he be played down back ( even in intraclub etc ) ?

i trust you. id much rather get a speedy forward to replace davey who wants to play in the midfield

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
