Does anyone know where entrance E is on brunton avenue?? I have no idea where im supposed to park...

You won't be able to park there I don't think mate. It's actually UNDER the mcg, almost beneath the bridge that leads across to Rod Laver Arena. Best bet is probably to park in that street that sort of leads down around near the practice nets for the cricketers, with all those shmick looking apartment things on it.

Lads,

There's only two days to go and I can feel the excitement building up to a crescendo as the game nears.

I've heard on the grapevine that most of you are following my training advice and not only that, but you're champing at the bit at the prospect of taking the field on Sunday against our traditional enemy.

That Big Carl Cup means a lot to me and it should mean a lot to all of you. My assistant, Redleg, was actually team manager for the great man when he coached the Demons in 1979 and he has some great stories to tell about his experience in the role (but please don't even think of mentioning the game v Fitzroy that year to him).

Anyway, I want to thank you guys for maintaining the discipline in our quest to retain the Big Carl. It's really important to me as the coach to know that you're totally dedicated to the cause and that you've made such massive sacrifices in terms of your lifestyle over the past weeks in order to be cherry ripe for this game.

As a coach I really have to feel for blokes like Worsfold who must be filled with fear and trepidation whenever they turn on the telly to watch the news knowing that one of their own players are going to be in the headlines.

No such problems with me.

You blokes have got your heads screwed on properly. You're a coaches dream and I'm sure you'll all remember those important 1% ers that help to win games: basic things like "don't forget the sunscreen, the mouthguards and the water bottles!"

Keep it up and I'll see you on Sunday when we'll be going for the ride of our lives.

Sincerely,

Your coach.

BTW, do any of you have tattoos on your midriffs?

As offered Rollo I will do something about water and such, perhaps if anyone has water bottles they could bring, it would be helpful. I don't know how people feel, but shared water at sports is not recommended by health departments and most sports administrations.

thanks, legend...

forum footy games are exempted under the health dept regs...

I hear the forecast is now 31 and late showers

It'd be a real shame if it rained. You see, I prefer an open game where I can use my superior fitness and skills to really hurt the opposition.

It just sounds to me like you're soft

Good luck for the game everyone. Do Demonland proud or we'll revoke your posting rights :P

Phew. As long as you don't revoke them. :P

Soft? Incidentally I've modelled my kicking style on TJ's... you'd be surprised how much success I've had in a short period of time, though I wouldn't dare say I've gotten myself anywhere near his level. I'd like to think that adopting his kicking style hasn't inflicted any of his less-desirable traits on me, however. Sorry TJ lovers, a cheap shot I know...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
