Trading Robbo?

Pick 5 for Robbo and swap our 21 with their 22 or at worst 38.

Hope "you know who" appears later in that same dream.

Are you guys serious?? As much as you you have to admire ben holland for getting the most out of his very limited abilities down back this year, we cannot be a serious contender for the finals with Ben Holland as one of our go to forwards, let alone as a replacement for robbo, who has been our most productive forward in the last 3-4 years.

If we lose robbo we are in a lot of trouble....especially if neitz's body continues to fail him.

Question 'DemonTraveller', just how long do you think Robbo can carry the forwards?

We need to recruit another Big Power F/wrd to replace the role of Holland, F/wrd, Back & pinch hit in the ruck. Not a Brad Ottens type Ruckman but a genuine Key Position player who can play either end. Like a BIGGER version of West coasts Hunter.

We need an early pick for such a beast.

Apart from Robbo, thats it (and dont give me Jamar or Johnson as a consistent reliable forward target!!!)

Point being, why the hell are we looking to trade robbo???? he is our most promising forward target for the upcoming season by quite a long way. no point having judd in the side if you have no targets up forward for him to kick to......

I think it would be a grave mistake to get rid of robbo (or let him go, whatever the case maybe).

Short-term view when it's a long-term gain.

If you look at the majority of what will be our best 22, they won't be at their peak next year. Thus, how we go next year is less important than in following years.

Robertson is on his last legs - probably two good years at best, and needs to be played as a third tall to get the best out of him IMHO.

I think Robbo is just trying to scare the Demons like Yze and Bizzell have done. I think it was poor timing considering it was the same day as Judd decided to go home.

We won't get a 1st rnd pick for Robbo who's 29 and had knee problems so there is no use trading him for a pick. I would only trade him as part of the Judd deal.

I wouldn't trade Johnstone for anyone but Judd. Only Kruzer is the only standout in the draft so I think it would be too risky to trade a player as talented as Johnstone for a kid who could turn out like Sylvia. If we are able to get Judd Johnstone will have to be part of the deal because he is the most talented player we have and is younger than both Bruce and Robbo, Judd is gone, Cousins and Braun are getting on so they will definately need a midfielder.

The trade I would be happy with would be pick 4 & 20 (Carlton will definately give picks 3 & 19) Johnstone and Green. Keep Robbo and put him on the Veteran's list once Yze retires. If Carlton are to get Judd we must make sure that they have to give the no 1 pick away because if they pick up Judd and Kruzer they will rocket up the ladder on confidence alone while we will look weak again for not going hard at trade week.

I for one dont want melbourne to get off the bottom 2 next year. We need KPP and the more picks we can get from trading TJ, Davey, Robbo the quicker we can rebuild. Newton will be good, so chuck him at FF and see what he can do. I would prefer Baily kept Miller as we wont get anything 4 him and see if 1 more year can make him something. Davey, Robbo and TJ/Bruce can all leave for all i care. I would prefer to keep Green tho. Oh and trade Carroll haha for a pick 80 something

so trade tj (our best player) davey, robbo and bruce and we rebuild. oh and carrol.

then when those players hit there peak we will trade them as well!

We will only trade for judd, i dont think any other trades will be made!

enough useless suggestions

IF They've got the BALLS, & if we really want to build a premiership quality team then this IS a direction we will need to take this & next year. It Will frighten a lot of supporters who just don't understand the differences between players who appear to look good, to players who are creative hardworking & con/destructive.

Sounds dodgy but...

I know someone who spoke to Brad Johnson at some lunch thing today and BJ said "robbo is as good as ours"

Take of this what you will.

Robbo is already gone. I'd like to say very reliable source, but that makes people less likely to believe. Let's just say 'I' think I have it on very reliable info that robbo has been seen holidaying with some prominent Bulldogs players. And I also have reason to believe Judd has a preference for Collingwood. I hope I've been misled.

Wrong about that at this very moment. Later in the week!

Robbo is turning 29. Given we finished 14th this year and given our lack of strength and depth down the spine the reality is that he is unlikely to play in a Dees Premiership team. For mine the club is correct in offering him 2 years. Turning 29, a couple of injury prone years equals a 2 year offer.

Its not as if we are short of medium foward options.. Bate, Green, Bruce all play their best footy forward. Dunn can also play as a mobile forward.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
