Meeting with Judd

Whether we get Judd or not, it seems like our camp has done everything possible, and that encourages me greatly.

Absolutely agree!

It appears as though we have done whatever we can and acted as professionally as we could have to entice Judd to the club.........as supporters, that is all we can ask.

If he still doesn't want to come, then at least we know we have some quality people in charge both in the footy dept and admin leading us forward.

I am at the stage now that regardless whether or not we've got Judd - I'm bloody excited we've got Bailey.

I still want Judd though!!

Ditto. This man is certainly making all the right noises. Definitely looking forward to seeing what he can do with us.

Just on Footy Classifieds:

The meeting with Melbourne was apperantly very impressive and Judd was impressed with Dean Bailey (inspired selection?!).

Gary Lyon said that he tried to break the perception of the MFC as poor and unsuccessful. Interestingly, in the last 10 years, 3 teams have played more finals than any other; West Coast, Essendon and MELBOURNE.

The club also went through the new facilities and gave Judd a presentation on our list. It's a good thing we've had this 'Get Judd' committee set up, as we were obviously well prepared for the pitch.

Good stuff all around.

Dean Bailey is without a doubt a massive wild card for us. I'm sure he's more impressive one-on-one than Ratten (who didn't make our shortlist), and whoever they have representing Essendon at the moment (The Velvet Sledgehammer! :D)

I just spilt my pants...again :P

A post from Demonology. Not sure how reliable it is, as we all know, there's a lot of supposition going on at the moment (including what the real story with McLean and Carroll in Germany is). I read somewhere that Judd has met with Collingwood as well, so hopefully we will know more soon. Anyways, here's the post:

Hello fellow posters please heed the following message. As we all know Judd met with the powers that be of the MFC earlier in the week. I am one of, if the only person who has a viable link to the club. Therefore I wish to relay the following news of how the meeting went this week.

Dean Bailey significantly enhanced the clubs chances of bringing Judd to MFC. Chris likes the new gameplan and is intersted as the where the club is headed. There were a few powerbrokers who attended the meeting and Judd told them that the MFC was now in the top two clubs of where he woud like to go ( He saw Collingw&%$ today). However irrespective of this I have been told that, he informed the club that the race was between the mfc and Collingw&%$ football clubs.

It is believed that in order to secure Judd melbourne are willing to trade Johnstone, Robertson and Sylvia to not only West Coast but other clubs. The transition in which Judd is involved will not be a straight swap with the Eagles shoud we gain his vote. It is believed there would have to be some significant trading with other clubs to get him.

If I hear any more news I shall let you guys know asap.

Thanks for that.

Eddie was on The Couch tonight, and the they were once again stating that Judd wanted to go to the Pies. Eddie was trying to turn the trading situation into "West Coast owe a fair bit to Chris Judd".

I'm sure the Weagles must be thinking "Yeah, you're right Eddie, how about you give us Rhyce Shaw and we'll call it a straight swap". Not.

I had a discussion at my work with a Blues supporter and he said that apparently in the interview we asked him whether he wanted to play for Melbourne, and he added, with a goofey grin, Judd took his jacket off and revealed a Melbourne top.

I know it's probably BS, but a i guy can dream!

i just blew a load

Eddie has already commented to the notion that he wont decimate his list to get Judd.. So short of kidnapping him Im not too sure what he intends to spring on the whole dealing ?

I have to confess, i sms'd that one into SEN, on their Friday arvo segment "Tell us something we don't know". I was driving around daydreaming about how funny it would be if Juddy did that.

Maybe he secretly just had the red and blue footy socks on instead.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
