reiwoldt had the foot of god goal

Saints win... Just. Pity. It would have been nice to see the Blues collect a third wooden spoon in a row.

We won't get Kreuzer even if we lose. Between Richmond and the Blues now.

Since carlton are going to lose and get Kreuzer, how does that make sundays match the Cotchin cup...

No, richmonds PP will come before the second round, so (if carlton lose tomor) rich will get pick 2, 17, 19 I think?

And we would get pick 3 and 20 i think

its been explained so many times this is getting to become abit of a joke.

if melbourne lose:

we get pick 2, 18, 20

carlton get pick 3, 21

richmond pick 1,17,19

if melbourne win:

we get pick 4, 21

carlton get pick 1,3,19

richmond get pick 2, 18, 20

tigers coach admittted to tanking saying we couldnt risk losing number 1 pick

hmmm

Regardless of today's result. It means the Tigers will still have the number 1 pick in the PSD, meaning they can go hell for leather in trying to secure an out of contract player. My bet is that they'll be promising the world to Charman- the real problem is that the pool in the PSD is drying up and its unlikely too many players will walk away from a footy club now without them being compensated.

They'll also be barracking for us today.

No, I reckon they might be barracking for Carlton today myself

The word out of Brisbane is that Charman is about to sign with Brisbane but that Cameron Wood could be tradeable. The interesting thing about that is that we might be competing with the Blues to get just such a player in the trades. If that's the case, then whoever loses today would gain substantial leverage in terms of bargaining position for this or any other player in the mix. (of course the Blues have the moneybags that we don't so it could be a moot point)

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
