9Gem are covering the Europa League final live from 4.30am tomorrow morning (Spurs vs Man Utd)

Well done to Big Ange but not sure if this result will save his career.

My gut tells me Tottenham will be looking for another manager next season.

Could go either way

Although, a guaranteed Champions League spot for winning the Europa League Cup is the equivalent of finishing 5th or better in the League so there's that

Ange is on $10Million per year for the next 2 years but the payout out figure may only be for 1 years salary

All things considered, I reckon Ange will stay on (for now, at least)

Channel 9 (Gem) are also covering the Conference League final next Thursday 4.30am (Chelsea vs Real Betis)

Also, the CL final is on 9Gem at 5.00am on Sunday June 1st (Inter Milan vs PSG)

The 2nd legs of the A-League S/F's are on this weekend with the Saturday evening S/F on 10Bold (Melb City vs Western United)

The Victory/Auckland S/F is on Friday evening on Paramount (streaming)

Absolutely rapt for Ange, and glad that Harry Kane got a cup too.

No-one at Spurs deserved silverware more.

Congrats GV and to all other Spurs fans it was well deserved. Couldn't be happier that Ange did it and at least make the owners have to think twice about sacking him.

Commiserations to @roy11 United really have had the season from hell. Will be looking for Amorim to make some signings and start shaping that squad.

@layzie Usually when one sporting team of mine is cabbage another is doing well. Sadly this does not seem to be the case in 2025.

No sleep this morning. Went in to the Imperial to see us lift the trophy then went straight to work, god almighty I feel like every decision I've ever made is a joke right now but worth it!

A lot of talk about the United and Villa game. I didn't see the incident but whether or not it cost them a place in the CL, the PGMOL is simply a joke.

Fantastic result! Have followed Crystal Palace since the Dees announced a reciprocal membership deal back in the 80's. I'm sure that deal is long gone, but it started a life long love of Palace for me. The FA Cup is the first silverware in their entire history! (Founded 1861).

Was able to watch live on Optus Sport and have no chance of sleeping now. Hope I can stay awake to watch the Dees vs Lions.

❤️💙🦅👹

Hi Palace Dees, Crystal Palace are my EPL side for exactly the same reason.

I don't remember there being much other than a loose alliance at the time, but clearly something stuck for a few of us. Having Mile Jedinak there for a while probably helped keep me interested as well.

It has been great watching this group step up over the past 18 months, and hopefully they can add some more depth to the squad in the offseason so that the Europa League doesn't become a massive burden next year.

(Like you my son also jumped on the Liverpool bandwagon, so we are both pretty happy at the moment.)

Don't forget the Tony Popovic connection!

So many similarities there poita. It's hard to find other Palace supporters in Aus. So glad to find someone who understands why.

I surprised myself how emotional I got watching them win it, knowing their history.

Standing alone, in the dark, tears on my cheeks, in front of the TV at 3am, will live with me forever.

Nothing will top watching the Dees in '21, but it runs a clear second.

A true grass roots club, so involved in the local community with their youth programs rather than the $$$$ driven top clubs, fills me with pride with what they have achieved.

So glad they got revenge from their defeat against Man U at the G in 2022 that I attended. 😆

Defeating Liverpool on the w/e would have topped a perfect year, but it still exceeded all expectations. ❤️💙🦅

The referee simply blew too early meaning it couldn't go to VAR, it was tough on them.

BUT If hawkeye hadn't have guffed up Aston Villa would have been related in 2019/20.
If they were relegated that year they woulda sold Grealish for less money, wouldn't have been in a position to sign Watkins, Martinez, Cash etc. That error was the building block on creating this villa team, so there is a little bit poetic justice/irony here.

Australia 1 Japan 0

The scoreline doesn't tell the story but what counts the most is the result. Japan had a lot of the ball but a lot of it was tippy-tap

So barring a mathematical miracle, the Socceroos have qualified for the World Cup (for the 6th consecutive time)

Kudos!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
