Frawley

Bang Bang Bang

Recommended Posts

The kid is doing really well. He has a "footy" brain, is willing to run through the lines and despite an awkward kicking style, actually hits the targets. He is still skinny, but definitely has the body which will fill out.

At the moment he is getting no help from others around him, including some disgraceful efforts from 2 of the senior players last week, he still hasn't dropped his head. In a couple of years we will be saying how glad we were to pick him up as a KPP when available in the draft. Richmond would give their right arm to have him on their list today.

Had his colours lowered in the first quarter, but stood his ground and improved steadily as the match went on.

Took some nice contested marks as well.

I love that, like Belly, he has the guts to take the opposition on. He will try to break the line, and because he has pace, he is often quite successful in doing so. Kicking is amusing to watch, and his technique means that he takes a second longer to get boot to ball, but overall it's not a huge issue.

Will be a player given experience, and especially time to grow physically.

Frawley is playing pretty well for a young player, has done some very nice things. Still got a lot to learn, but they will come with more experience in the top level and with proper coaching.

So far his overall performance this season has been about 70 to 80%

Maturing nicely and already has some muscle to work with.

Backs himself to run out of defence (Looks like hes about to get caught but always disposes)

Be given big tasks to learn from

250 game player in the making

I think he's terrible. Hasn't done anything to impress me at all. Everyone says he has potential but I can't see it. Plays from behind (instead of in front), has no football brain, can't kick, can't mark. I don't know where the potential is meant to be but it's not obvious to me. Perhaps it's the bloodlines that ooze potential.

The reality is that he shouldn't have had to play more than a couple of games this year and a few more next, just to get a taste of it. He was recruited as a key position defender (probably full back) that we desperately need but he is still 10-15 kg and two pre-seasons off being that. If he grows 2 or 3 cm, that would be awesome too!

As supporters we have to be patient and realise he's going to be beaten more often than not over the next 18 months with a view to having a genuinely good full back for 10 years. That said, he's been a bit more competitive than I thought he would have been so far against players who've been in the competition 4-5 years plus.

He took some decent marks on the weekend.

It's widely acknowledged that the bigger guys normally takes a little longer to develop so don't judge him just yet. Give it another couple of years before teeing off.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
