After looking at the team selected for the Port Game one can only come to a sensible conclusion which is that certain players need to play more games for Sandy to qualify for their finals campaign. Players like PJ, Bizzell etc could if qualified help Sandy to a fourth premiership which would also assist in the development of some of the younger players in that team. Just an observation.

If it means getting Ward, Brown and Bizzel out of the side, and sees our more youthful players (dunn, garland, Warnock) getting senior games, then i like that idea

I don't give a toss if Sandy wins another premiership, the only think I'm concerned with is the MFC breaking their drought. If this is true (which I doubt) then we need to look at the relationship we have with them.

I started supporting Sandy and the Dees in the same year due to a grandmother living in Tennyson St Sandringham.

Footy was a whole new exciting experience and I was young enough to enjoy watching both teams. I probably saw Sandy play more than I saw the Dees for the first few years but I'd already become a loyal Melbourne supporter because of Barassi's persona and performance. That was the team I wanted to support.

For me, the marriage of the Zebs and the MFC was a marriage made in heaven.

Three flags in a row for the Zebs is exceptional and in the record books. Four will be amazing.

I'm not 100% certain of the rules for qualifying but I think it's 6 VFL games. That means Bizzell needs to play two more games to qualify. He'd be the only one other than Jamar who needs one more game.

Agreed that from strictly the MFC point of view a flag for Sandy isn't of major importance but it doesn't hurt if the younger players on the way up at least get a taste of playing in a successful team.

Sandy doesn't need MFC playas to help them win the premiership. They've got the best VFL list in the comp. That's the reason why we've won three flags n have dominated this year. With all the injuries to MFC, we've kept marching.

Sandy have a good crop of VFL registered players but they have been more than ably supplemented by a regular roll call of MFC listed players who are NQR for AFL but perform very well at VFL level. MFC seem rich in that type of player.

Ferg, Jamar, Warnock, Bizzell and Miller are some examples.

I would expect that many of these players will roll off the MFC list over the next year or two.
