Fact he even played 60% an indictment on the coaches based on some of the vision.

Yeah absolutely, wouldnโ€™t also the medical staff have noticed something? Iโ€™ve seen more clips and even the way he was running is weird. His general motor skills were affected.

The footage I posted of Hollands has elicited some "laugh" responses. Rest assured it was not meant to be funny.

I'd have serious concerns for the bloke and serious doubts about how Carlton is being run right now.

I acknowledge Langdon was great against him KB, but itโ€™s not as easy as putting a running player on him, Hollands started on him in the last who is a great runner Daicos took him to F50 where his forward craft was too good, Walsh tried to go with him but as you say got caught out hunting the pill instead of just manning up Daicos. I think youโ€™re also under selling how good Daicos was in the last at clearances and CBDs, the game no longer allows for you to body up without trying to win the footy
Thereโ€™s also the fine balance on focusing on your opposition and not backing your own game, Carlton should have been further in front at 3 quarter time based on getting the upper hand at stoppages and winning the midfield battle.
The amount of times in the last quarter they spoiled each other and got in the way of each other at the honey pot in D50 whilst the Pies stayed down and held structure was telling, maybe that was panic of de ja vuex or poor defensive coaching but that cost them as much as anything else

Yes it is not easy and agree with you on his craft, but allowing him space to do that is not the way to reduce his influence you need a player with discipline and you can reduce his influence, tackle hard but not the rough tactics but man on man he does get frustrated.

I wasn't allowed to go to the footy in the early 1930's and missed seeing him play.

what about when Hudson kicked 600 goals in his first 100 games??

I hope that Holland is okay and that people are kind, especially after the latest update from the media explaining the situation.

Mental Health in the AFL is [censored] and has been for a long time. How many more warnings do we need. No more โ€˜wake up callsโ€™ and more action please

People should be kind to Hollands and absolutely scathing towards Carlton. The amount of scrutiny Melbourne got for putting Petracca back on the field after his injury should be par for the course, plus more because they had all the time in the world pre-game to figure out Hollands wasn't right.

Hollands has had issues for a while and look like they have worsened. Something very awry at Carlton to play him in that condition

I think the issue needs a wholistic response to ensure that there are no other issues present, mental health or otherwise.

He certainly didnโ€™t seem normal compared to his previous games.

I donโ€™t believe these are comparable situations.

Itโ€™s a shame nothing was spotted prior to the game re Hollands. Canโ€™t be easy to keep your eye on 20+ players so not sure itโ€™s Carltonโ€™s fault.

I think the whole of Carlton have a lot of pressure right now which I doubt helps the situation.

Clear from footage, including now of pre game warmup, that Hollands was not in a fit mental state to play a game of AFL football. That he was not withdrawn from game is an epic duty of care failure for both Carlton and the AFL.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.ย
