Thanks for the updates can’t wait to read some training reports later. Would love to know from track watchers that are there who may or may not be looking likely to play on Friday.

I attended some of training this morning. Liked the speed their trying to move the ball with. Culley only had a bandage on his arm, and looked good, but was not doing drills that involved tackling. I saw Kate Hore talking to the media team at training. Also had the great pleasure of talking to my great friend the wonderful Ghostwriter.

Petts is still wearing a no-contact hat because his latest concussion is his third and they’re being very cautious. He’ll be in full training in a week.

3rd this pre-season ? or career?

Good question but he had two concussions last year. I hope for his sake it's the third in his career and not pre season.

@Demonland Is CJ fully participating?

Yes. He and Salem featured in all the drills up until the point I had to leave.

The only players that were present and did not participate in the contact drills were Petty, Culley, AMW, McAdam & Kentfield.

Henderson was doing separate rehab.

Everyone else who was present participated in every drill.

May and Viney were absent whilst Bowey and Campbell were present but did not participate in anything other than time on the bike.

Is there an estimated timeline on Campbell's return from his neck injury?

Do we know what the injury is (besides the obvious) and has he had to have had surgery?

No surgery. But the neck-brace has been on longer than he was initially told.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

    Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

    Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
