Any excuse to replay one of the great incidents.

Look at Pearce throwing the first fist, then goes down like he’s been shot. What’s that saying about people in glass houses?

Umpire…..nothing to see here 🤣

Sorry, this isn’t purely linked but is in a round about way.

Anyone know when Demonland, DeeBrief are starting back up?

I also wasn’t sure. Are Gawn and Gus still doing podcasts?

The fact we won by 2 points and they didn't give the free to Pearce made it better (also James McDonalds goal late probably missed), one of the great days at the footy and the start of a pretty good season 1998 with which Seecamp was an important component. We were clearly the 2nd best side behind North at the end of the year, who shaat the bed on GF day against Adelaide!!

Seecamp copped three weeks for snotting Pearce.

He came to Melbourne as part of a swap for Martin Pike, whose off-field activities could no longer be tolerated despite his obvious talent.

After leaving Fitzroy, Pike of course went on to play in a premiership with North Melbourne then three more with Brisbane over a golden five-year span.

And not forgetting Justin Murphy’s late goal that was given as a point. A great day all round!

Doggy Brown’s debut.

They shouldn't walk through plate glass windows.

Who shouldn't have even been there after we smashed the absolute [censored] out of them in the first week of finals.

We made something of a bad habit of comming up against the better teams in prelim finals in conditions that better suited them. Remember that final against North well. A night game at the MCG, at a time when they played the most night games during the home and away of most clubs. Similarly, we've copped West Coast in Perth in away prelims more times than I care to remember.

I was there that day, just 100m from the incident. Pearce copped his right whack - literally.

More importantly, I got to work with Marcus many years later. Top bloke.

Lol serious question?

Yep. Am I missing something?

Well considering the last podcast these two ever did was 2023 and Gus has now been retired for 2 years now while also going completely off the grid with football in general... I think you can put two and two together here.

@picket fence In fairness, I never followed the podcast, I only ever knew it was a podcast.

I also have never followed any of the players and what they do off the field, so wouldn’t know if Gus went off the grid or not.

Hence why I was asking because I figured it might be a good listen if it was still a thing.

Thanks for the info.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
