Is it just me or is anyone else itching for pre season to start back up. I know heaps of the boys have already started committing to the grind before official training starts which shows how good we are looking for the future. Just wondering how long until the boys will be back on Gosh's and Casey, assuming it won't be much longer after the draft which is also very exciting. It really is going to feel like an entire new club with new players, coaching staff and game style. Hopefully the young boys will gain so much confidence heading into next year having more freedom on the ground. Also, can not wait to see boys like Moniz-Wakefield have another shot at tearing up the backline after doing his ACL, he was looking so good. (The trac profile picture will be getting changed don't worry) 😅 I love reading the comments of everyone's point of view and opinion so feel free to respond.

Yup, fully agree.

Haven’t been this excited since 2021 preseason and 2022.

I’m not positive we will smash it, but I am so keen to see what changes they make, and the changes they already made if it pans out. Either way it will be interesting.

As a slightly obsessed Dees supporter, I feel as if i should be doing something, but at this time of year there isnt much to do. Watch the 2021 game I reckon.

Still the rumour is that Official training starts Monday.

Great to see fit younger people running around.

Though the weather is [censored]

I am not itching for the season to start. When you get into the last section of your life you realize you might only have a few seasons left I am in no rush! As we have returned to lower levels of the ladder, trading and drafting etc is the enjoyable period when we can imaging what our new additions will drive us higher up the ladder. Life goes past fast enough Cam. Enjoy the next few months, we haven't lost a game yet! And the ladies are in the finals and play tomorrow. Enjoy today March will come around fast enough.

What about the Ladies finals game tomorrow. They have played finals the last 2 years while the boys have wallowed in 14th. Go Dees.

Snap to that, old dee! Well said!

(As to the women, though, they just missed finals last season, but we did get to see them beyond August😊)

The W didn’t make finals last year, OD. In 2023 we finished top 4 but went out in straight sets. In 2022 we won the premiership. We haven’t won a final since the premiership win, therefore tomorrow is so important.

Glad to see you supporting the W 👍🏽

When is the start date. Must be soon. I know the pies go back Dec 1 & they made finals so we must be soon.

1-4 year players commence preseason this Monday at 10am. The seniors start back about two weeks after that.

I kinda agree with you. But I'm not sure the OP has nothing else to enjoy before then. I haven't been to training since the last session before the '88 grand final at the Junction Oval so it's not as exciting as it will be for trackwatchers. To rephrase it I've been excited about each season probably since Roosy came along. But, yeah, it's extra exciting with a new coach etc. The main thing I hope is that we go into 20-27(!) excited; next year could be quite challenging.

Right now Im more looking forward to the Ashes.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

Melbourne wrapped up the AFLW home and away season with a hard-fought 14-point win over Geelong at Kardinia Park. The result secured second place on the ladder with a 9–3 record and a home qualifying final against the Brisbane Lions next week.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
