I'd happily do pick 8 for 12 and a future 1st. Wonder if Eagles would be stupid enough to do it.

I do it for 12 and their future second.

That could potentially unlock something

If we can trade them 7+8 for 2 then we would look at it

If somehow this was how it played out, id be bidding on both GCS academy players at 2nd spot and get the GCS to cough up way overs their kids as a big "Frank Underwood" back at them.

Just a thought would Jy Simpkin be worth any of the picks from GC?

If we got pick 50, possibly

Crows list manager ...

Attention: Gold Coast

Given GC has been accruing picks through trade outs (i.e. Ainsworth) and MFC stating we want our heads turned, what picks would "turn our heads" without the Humpfrey option?

I.e. Would pick 6 + 7 + GC F1 2026 incoming and just Trac going back turn our heads?

That's because they are rubbish picks...shame GC isn't offering us picks 6 and 7 in last year's draft.

Unfortunately Geelong look like they are going to good into the future so they aren’t worth much.

So tenth, twelfth, and 2026 fifteenth best talent?

Look, I can see just ‘going with it’ but I would prefer to keep Petracca. But that’s just me - resident Happy Clapper as is the term apparently.

It’s Humphrey for Trac or Trac can take a hike back to Casey

I'd take 6 and 7 for Petracca, even with them blowing out to 9 and 10.
Even in a shallow draft there's great players available in the top 10, if you've got your scouting right.

Adding two more players at the calibre of Windsor, Langford or Lindsay is a no brainer.

Last three drafts, following Covid disruptions to U18s, have seen pick 9 and 10 go to: Lombard, Tauru, Read, Caddy and Ginbey, Philipou; I would take any two of these for Petracca.
That's ignoring that players of the calibre of Wanganeen-Milera, O'Sullivan, Morris and Weddle all went a couple of picks afterwards.

Failing that, you package together and get back into the first couple of picks of the draft.
Again - I would take Pick 2 for Petracca.

We're not winning a premiership in the next four years; rebuild.

"Even in a shallow draft there's great players available in the top 10, if you've got your scouting right.".......clearly not from what our recruiting team and media are saying

All the talk about picks doesn't matter at all, we are losing a very VERY important player who covers a lot of ground in our team and is key. We have been very clear we need a player as part of the deal because we are losing a good one.

Hold Melbourne...please hold firm be strong we have the high ground we don't need to blink first, or at all really.

Petracca has wanted out for a long time now. Grateful for having him at our club during that era of the GF. Now he can take his brand me me me somewhere else at only the right price for the club.

I still find it hard to fathom why Christian has wanted out the last 2yrs. I just get the feeling its all about Christian and the brand. He claims to have been saying he wants a fresh start, but as it turning out, he wont get a fresher start at his own club with a new CEO, Coach, President, Assistant Coaches, players etc. It is all about him. I look forward to seeing these lads leave tbh but will always thank them for the good times.

I think the club will accept picks seven and eight

As plan B, probably yeah.

Yes but they would all be high 20's and probably worse in the year Tassie gets all the picks.

I don't

What's more useful to the club..

It's classically.. a bird in the hand or two in the bush ???

Dees aren't taking two " could be/ might be " picks alone .

We have Tracc... he goes NOWHERE without our blessing.

Who knows ... he might like the new Melbourne 🤔🤷‍♂️

Yeah Plan A is to get Humphreys. Plan B is to accept picks seven and eight.

Cal Twomey saying that its looking likely the trade will be Trac and 24 for pick 7 and 8 with a bunch other picks involved.

Riley Beveridge saying Humphrey trade not happening.

Don't forget Plan A-fu

We walk away. It's actually an option.....and one described at the very outset.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
