But what about the Mole 😱

Get the 'ell out and you're left with Moe. Make of that what you will.

yep. Hate it also

I like that the kid has integrity and doesn't want to burn Gold Coast... it's a nice change from the player we are trying to trade him for.

But if his personal matter is pressing, then I have no doubt his teammates would be understanding of his desire to leave

At the end of the day how hard he pushes them with GC will determine how far they can be moved

If he says 'yeah going home would be nice' it won't happen. He needs to say 'going home is a necessity and it will happen, if not now then soon enough'

I am also led to believe that GC are across this meeting

Meaning they are aware of it, or they are there with him? Wheels in motion? 👀

I'll confess to not watching a hell of a lot of suns games in the last few years.

Humphrey seems to be a player, but can someone who is a fan give me a summary of why we should trade him in.

I'm a huge fan. Have been for a long time.

I wouldn't call him Petracca, because he moves in a different way, but I can see why some would do that. If I were to have a go at a comparison in style, it's much more de Goey. Petracca plays his power game more like a basketballer, whilst Humphrey uses his power more like a meat cleaver. He's not spinning around, he's just hitting the ball at speed, busting people out of the way, grabbing it first time and moving it on.

He's a pretty straightforward footballer, but in the best way. Less razzle dazzle and more 'big boy' football. The thing I like the most about him is his hands. He's so clean with players around him that he only needs one touch. It's just good, simple footy that does really difficult things pretty regularly in a way that doesn't look that difficult. Nightmare forward matchup with his ability overhead and one on one.

I'd do Petracca for Humphrey straight up in a heartbeat. The only thing stopping me adding a future first is the thought that we could be very early last year, but I certainly wouldn't rule the possibility out. He's one of my favourite players in the AFL.

Not intel. But my thoughts thus far:

Bailey met with Dees (and others)

It has come out that personal reasons at play

Dees want him as part of the trac deal.

Instagram post (Take me home)

2nd meeting underway

= We are still in with a chance but like I have said all along, its ultimately up to GC to release him as they have the contract. Just like us with Trac.

Because he’s a 21 year old version of Petracca

Heard that any meeting being held today would be Skype/meetings online.

Just hope we hold Trac if the deal is only a couple of compromised draft picks...if it was last year's draft then have at it...very different draft pool though this year not worth it.

So long as what's good for the goose is good for the gander then dees camp won't be too disgusted.

Great summary

Not necessarily, MFC want Bailey to raise the request to trade via his manager. Its all about not hurting the GC brand

What GC brand

Haven't watched Bailey much but my feelings are Rayner is a better comparison.

Although he hasn't had many midfield minutes to show what he can do

At the moment he seems like a great impact fwd that can run through the midfield.

Petracca. It's all about him, obviously. He is the brand 😂

Also heard that Humphrey and others were spoken to at length by us during 2022 draft so he knows a bit about us already.

Go Dees ...

If he is unwilling, whatever the reason (and kudos to him for showing concern to his club and teammates), to ask for a trade then I just can't see how GC will be forced to trade him.

And the meeting is in person between Bailey and MFC reps?

I know it happens.. but the fact that GC have been so strong with public comments about not trading BH means its harder for them to soften / change the narrative without looking silly. It would be a terrible precedent for them to set. Do you see it that way?

This is precisely why he needs to force their hand, AND use the compassionate grounds to make it happen

Gold Coast can absolutely flip the narrative and come out as the good guys here, if they say "we have been recently made aware of challenges that Bailey and his family are facing, and despite our best efforts to help the situation, it became clear that a move home was the best outcome for Bailey and his family".

It's really easy for GC to back down on compassionate grounds. Really easy.

Not a throw away point imho.

We have been s̶t̶a̶l̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ watching him for some time now !!

I think that now they've made finals, look to be in the premiership window, they are trying to show a more hardened, tough facade. They've had enough young talented players leave. Now that they have genuine interest from a superstar (Trac) to move there, they're trying to show maturity. If they do let BH leave, they can spin it that it was in the best interests of the club and player to leave, and can come across as understanding and respectful (if personal reasons are part of BH's reasons for wanting to leave).

Him walking around the tan with Steven King and Nathan Jones and our list manager confirming the interest directly multiple times is pretty good.

It’s good in that it’s “not bad”, and it calls for cautious optimism. Excitement? That a talented young player is currently giving us a sideways glance?

It has just a tad of “OMG the hot girl in class knows I exist”.

I can tell you though, I will be very excited if he signs!

I cant be 100% positive in the response to this. My gut feel is its in person. Too much relies on this for it to be over via video

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
