Zero chance this happens. We'll be forced to take picks in the end. The only question remains is what the picks going back to Gold Coast will look like.

It's not impossible though unlikely.

Fact is, like BH, the clubs hold the leverage for a contacted player.

Personally I'd let him go, but there is no obligation to.

Listening to Morris, it is very obvious that he is getting all of his info from the Suns. The chatter of 7&8 for Trac and 24 is all framed as 'Suns will do it if they get 24 back'. It's only about what is good for the Suns. It seems that Melbourne aren't leaking, which is good because a) leaks to the media suck (our toilet blogging BBQ enthusiast aside) and b) there is still the chance that we play hard ball with Humphrey being the end target

This definitely seems to be the case

Not saying that there is anything more than a small chance that Humphrey requests a trade, but it seems like none of the info in the media is coming from us

The Steven King appointment was a surprise to everyone, so I’m hoping (PRAYING) we have something up our sleeve that hasn’t been leaked to the media yet

Probably means he doesn't like us then 😅

Lol… DL is the uncool boy who’s holding out hope that the hot girl (Bailey) is into him.

I have said if BH isn’t cleared to us, it will be a culture killer for the Suns.

Don't agree it's a culture killer for the Suns. In this case, the only way the trade happens if by Gold Coast getting one of the games elite and most marketable players who will immediately improve their team and improve them to contending for a premiership. It's not like they're just trading a player to their home state because they asked - they're getting a rare opportunity as above. If they were just trading them on a whim as some clubs have had to do in the past, that's different.

When zooming out, they'd be stupid not to trade Humphrey for Petracca. It's a net benefit for their club to compete and draw more media attention and memberships etc. Humphrey is just one of an endless line of young talent - they're getting another two top 10 kids in this draft alone!

That's like saying keeping Petty in 2023 killed our culture.

Your choice of gif alone tells me you’re legit the uncool teenage boy 😝

What should happen, Humphrey to Melbourne & pick 8 (Humphrey an unproven star). Petracca & pick 24 back ( Petracca a proven superstar with 6 years of great football ahead)

What will happen Petracca & pick 7 & 8 in an average draft pool😢

We have the whip hand, we want a very good player & a first rounder or Trac comes back to see out his career at a brand new environment, something he pushed for.

Don’t buckle MFC, this is the first test for the new regime (all of the footy world is watching)

Trac is almost 30 and Humphrey is 21. A straight swap is completely fair.

I know we're all a bit biased, but is that a relative win/win trade no?

I think so. Trac is proven, Humphrey is growing.

If he was as desperate to get out of the GC and return home for personal reasons then he would have publicly requested a trade. That hasn't happened and will not happen. Dees fans need to come to terms with the picks.

I've never heard the term Xennial before, but yes, a Xennial classic!

Anyone else feeling similar vibes to this scene in the Neverending Story, when the childlike empress is pleading with Bastian to 'call my name' otherwise their world will disappear and there will just be nothingness?

You just jumped several levels of sadness. This is straight to boss level

Pickers on Trade Radio just mentioned something about BH having an ongoing rift with his manager, I just heard a bit of it. Did anyone else listen?

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
