THANK YOU FROM DEMONLAND

Featured Replies

So grateful to you Andy, and George and binman for maintaining calm (mostly) and trying to keep us sane.

I hope that you all realise that we are all passionate about the beloved Demons and most, with very very few exceptions, appreciate your time and efforts.

Most of us will look forward with optimism and hope to 2026 and beyond.

Sharing the joys of 2021 via Demonland when we couldn’t share in a crowd made such a difference.

❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Huge thanks for the efforts all the Demonland team put in. Hopefully next year posters will use the podcast to give opinions & glean information. I sincerely hope it doesn’t become an “agony column” as it became late in the season. We all start next year with a sense of positivity and a clean slate ..Go Dees ..& big thanks again

Feels genuinely odd being thanked by someone (or more accurately an entity) to whom/to which I feel genuinely grateful to.

One day I'll be rich and will slip you a fifty.

For now, just bask in the glory of knowing Demonland is one of few online activities which survived the birth of my son. Does that make you family?

Please also accept my thanks to Andy and the team. I have had a quiet word with the regular track-watchers and they have all agreed to waive any performance fees for heading down to Gosch's for 2026, starting of course with the young'uns return in November, 2025. Right Ghosty, Kev, Slarti, Tim and others....? My goodness, we're only a month away!

Uhm… I don’t remember an election for President of the Track-Watchers Association taking place. And had there been such an election, we all know who would’ve won (again). I’ll give you a clue… ME.

For the love of god, know your station!

Big thank you to Andy and the team! Coming here and listening to the podcasts is a source of sanity ( except when it’s not! ) Life would be so much poorer without you all.

Is that the game with the figurines, including the bowler with the seesaw arm and batter with moveable bat and the tiny metallic ball? 😃

Sorry master. I thought we were an anarcho-syndicalist commune?

No.

But what a brilliant game that was - as crazy cricket nuffy i had that game and played it all the time. It was only way i could ever hit cricket ball though the V. And jeez my field setting was elite.

Funnily enough a mate gave me the game in the picture above for my birthday last year.

As an elderly, interstate member, Demonland is my ‘lifeline’ to the greatest football club in the in the World. Huge thanks to Andy and the Demonland team for continuing to nourish my ❤️💙 soul. Your hard work never ceases to amaze me.

I owned that about 60 years ago.

Are they still making it?

You thought wrong.

And it’s mistress, not master 🤨

Ditto what all other posters have said. I’ve been a long time lurker on this forum, but didn’t have the guts to post anything or even have an account. I have been the same on Big Footy and other things for years and watch people get destroyed for their opinions. I appreciate that this forum has honest conversations and people have a range of views which has also shifted my thinking on some topics.

So, thank you for creating this community and keeping it civil. I think in my real life I know maybe 1-2 other Melbourne supporters and none are close friends or anyone I’d have these discussions with. ❤️💙❤️💙

Hmm, I had a second game where you kind of spun ... moved a wheel under a panel and it would come up with a 'result' each time - 4 ... 6 ... 1... 0.... wicket. Neither of these game had anything to do with the actual sport.😂

That game is the one pictured (i think it came out in the early 70s).

Pretty boring to be honest - but awesome, albeit somewhat misleading, picture on the front of the box.

Yep, I would have last played it well over 40 years ago. The photo here proves you're right and the second time I described this game.

You can still get it. I got a new one a few years ago.

The test match game shows how far we have progressed.

Andy and demonland have allowed us all to enjoy a game of a different technology.

I was around when computers were invented and helped inject them into every aspect of life. The systems were big, clunky and required teams of highly and uniquely skilled programmers, technicians and operators.

I dont know how Andy and the team maintain DLand but am forever grateful that they do. Their dedication and passion is only matched by the many contributors, Special thanks to the trackwatchers.

Hope springs eternal and while our fortunes on the field are unknown we have no need to hope with Dland, it remains in so many ways a consistent, igniting stirring and calming so many emotions.

THANK YOU.

Big thanks to Andy and the team who keep this site not only going, but charging ahead. Well done all! And please keep doing what you do!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
