King of the flip flops. And Clarry was the best player in the competition at the time.

Why don't we rename this thread The Tim Lamb is s h i t thread for all the Eeyores?

Ha.. cute.

I'm sorry I dont bow down to Tim Lambs level of mediocrity like you and your other buddy do.

Some observations.

Tim's interview yesterday was quite telling imo. Seemed to speak about Oliver and Petracca in very different lights. My take was that unless we get a great deal for Trac he will be in our team next year. On the flipside I got the impression that there is less reluctance to move on clarry. All inference from my perspective but thats my take

My take too, but this would also be our goal. If they are to leave, it's not a firesale, we'll need to get something in return.

We [censored] up the messaging on Clarry by allowing that leak to beat our press release, but Lamb's press conference yesterday went some way to reframing the situation.

What's a realistic trade for Petracca in your opinion?

Lets keep Humphrey out of the picture for now.

Honestly I think we would be thrilled with a straight swap for Humphrey.

We'd also be thrilled with 2 first rounders. We would have got more last year if he was willing to go anywhere other than Carlton or Collingwood.

Now I fear we will get pick 7 and change. He's obviously worth more but I don't think we will force him to come back and will end up being the ones that blink first.

I'll also add that I think that the Suns are probably slightly overvaluing Humphrey.

If you watched Humphrey for the last two years?

Yes there has been improvement, and he is a good kick, but he hasn't got what Petracca's got. Peripheral vision, mindset, enters contests, and rarely loses balance.

I know this draft is meant to be highly compromised, but we're going to have to rethink everything if the first round extends to at least pick 53!

This is what the AFL Trade Tracker currently states:

Is there an conversation to be had that these three prime players CONTRACTS of ours are actually reflective of their true value and therefore no one is prepared to not get a bargain in exchange?

What stuff is Lamb on? During the presser Lamb was moving around swinging the head like a toddler on red cordial. Me thinks he is under real pressure , it shows.

Did they say what time, Daz?

Here is the interview from Today (9.10.25)

Straightest of straight bats

No movement on Petracca other than initial conversation with him

No conversation re Oliver with GW$

May won’t leave

Heath will happen; Derksen will not

Getting the impression Dees will not trade out Trac for draft picks alone, even if it is both 6 and 7 for Trac. They should be telling GC it's a player (Humphrey or Andrew) with a draft pick or it's no deal. You don't trade a player like Trac for picks, it takes years to develop a player of his calibre, and I don't want to have an unfilled hole in the meantime. GC can bleat on all they like that Humphrey is contracted, well guess what? so is Trac!

Rather telling. Starting to think both Trac and Clarry will be Demons next year.

Clarry probably left his phone charger at home and hasn't been able to call his manager

He will be a Giant soon enough

“We were disappointed, we made a number of different contract offers. The value was that early 20s selection. We worked through that and we were able to come out with a pick we were happy with." - Tim Lamb on Judd McVee

“At this stage it is looking likely he could be a free agent. We are talking to Collingwood on a couple of things. We are comfortable bringing him in a free agent." - Tim Lamb on whether Brody Mihocek will be brought in as a free agent or a trade

“Really preliminary discussions at this stage. We have said all along we love Trac. We told him we'd look at it but as long as it's in the best interests of the club." - Tim Lamb, Melbourne List Manager

“There's list management strategy that sits behind it, we have been to the draft the last two years and we think we are in a really good spot. No one is being pushed out the door. We are just having mature conversations." - Tim Lamb

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
