Pathetic stuff not showing Langford during the top 5 rising star announcements.

Amazing Gawn has 10 votes from 9 games considering we lost the first 5 games.

He should break 20 votes for the second time in his career

This would have to be the worst production I personally have ever seen and it's not past round 10 yet...

Rank amateur incoherent disconnected and childish.

Shows that the Brownlow is a useless medal. We bag the umpires all year then ask them to say who the best player is while umpiring the hardest game in the world to umpire.

A lot of them have never even played the game

I’d argue there’s countless more games harder to umpire. Imagine trying to see a baseball being thrown at 105 miles an hour and only having .25 second to choose if it hit the strike zone or missed by 1 cm.

I want Gawny to win only because his speech would be elite. It’ll go down in history.

Come on AFL, give us something!

PS- black tie means a tie. Not a turtle neck. It also means a suit. Not a blazer you found in the back of your cupboard and some chinos from Target

Sneakers with a suit should be a capital offence.

The no sock boat shoe look is worthy of time in jail.

Nobody wants to see your ankles!

Strange night, this Brownlow.

GOTY and MOTY year were both very beige, the Rising Star looked about as happy as the Pope at a condom sale, the (lack of) camera work on Langford was a disgrace, the players look as if they have been forced to undergo PR training to learn how to present for the cameras at their tables, and the whole presentation lacks energy and life.

Whats Gomez Adams doing at the Brownlow??

This thing is rigged!

"Matt Rowell may actually be the favourite now.

Another bizarre 3-vote game in Round 9, where he didn't poll a single coaches' vote, has him five votes ahead of Nick Daicos with a game in hand.

It's at least getting to be a toss-up. Daicos has a lot of great games to come but Rowell won't exactly stop polling either..."

Now 3 GAMES where Rowell got 3 votes when both coaches including his own didn't think he deserved even 1 coaches award point

Did LJ bring his mummy?

No. His much older partner.

100%. Bontempelli’s suit is a classic, the cut of his pants…

A 360 degree game with vague rules that change every year with 36 players on the field blocking your view

Yeah, I reckon that is harder than standing still, watching a ball and calling strike or not

I actually love Bailey Smith’s suit. The chocolate monochrome look is very on trend, and the 80s cut is cool but classic.

Shame about everything from the neck up.

Do the umpires all talk amongst about who they are voting for during the season. How else to explain how players who no one picks as a stand out can poll so well. Rowell this year. Wines when he won etc

Anyone know what Trac and Kozzi have polled?

Also they used to have four finalists for the Jimmy award then announce the winner. This year they went straight to announcing a winner. Which means the other finalists don’t get any recognition.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.
