Hawks put in one quarter

Against an aging, injured Cats team

Pathetic effort

It's operation beat Collingwood. If the Lions can't do it tomorrow which of these two can. Can't see the Hawks winning four in a row so it might just come down to the Cats. Christ I hated writing that.

Those cocky Hawks fans at the game in the first quarter are a bit quiet

Are they scoping out who to pick a fight with?

Who else thinks Stewart won't miss next week. Some [censored] will happen and they'll say they misdiagnosed the conclusion or it was so low grade a 7 day break will suffice..?

Dangerfield having some sort of game.

Just shows you that there’s plenty of life left in older players who are committed and willing to play a team game

Kevin Hart Whatever GIF

Just turned the game on.

Jeez I hate the umpiring either way.

The absurd stand rule - guy in the mark is fixed, but the guy kicking forward is about 30 degrees inboard and not brought around.

Hawks trailing nd an off balance 40-50 meter kick goes out - “insufficient intent” FFS!

Also hate the camera work - who wants to see the face of the kicker. What the hell is going on down field ?

Vociferous dissent is now OK? Bailey Sniff abuses umpire with impunity.

Hats off to Danger. One foot in the grave and he’s playing like a spring chicken

One foot in the grave, one foot in the kebab truck, and he still keeps going.

Absolute hats off.

Cameron bloody amazing.

Cats don’t seem to miss Hawkins much.

I take great pleasure watching Bailey Smith play bad football.

Yet because he gets high possessions he gets talked up as being a star. Watching him live tonight his kicking at times is lazy & inaccurate

Yet he’s third favourite for the Brownlow 🤷‍♀️

I legitimately do not care about a cats v pies Granny. Season finishes for me tomorrow night if it’s that game.

Because the Brownlow is an accurate representation of the best players?

Bont says no

At first I thought don’t be ridiculous! But nothing surprises anymore in all things AFL

Some delicious ball movement from Geelong’s midfield.

I’m very excited for King!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
