End of season 2025 interviews

Featured Replies

With the end of the season, exit interviews are upon us.

We have lost three coaches, and hopefully that’s the last of the changes on that front. (Goodwin, Williams and Radford)

Which players do you think will request trades, request to stay and straight up be delisted?

Do you think they’re waiting to complete the interviews for the new incoming coach or happening soon?

Interesting. No list changes, delisting, or comments of who wants to leave. That’s rather unusual.

I imagine the announcements will come after Casey Demons have completed their season.

Exactly... club hasn't finished the year yet.

That will be a while - Casey are going all the way (16 AFL listed players in tomorrow), with the VFL GF the Sunday after the prelims. We'll have a new coach by then.....

Fingers crossed they win it, I guess I thought they’d do the AFL side players first and VFL next but I guess it makes sense.

Even if he's behind the scenes I would hope the new coaching panel are at things like exit interviews observing, getting to know players and even asking them questions.

You’d love to think it, but idk. With how things have been, can’t be sure.

I posted this on the 'Hatch...etc' thread a couple of days ago, for what it, as a 'reporter's' report, is worth:

From the AFL's 'Inside Trading' panel:

"West Coast, Richmond, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, St Kilda, Carlton and Sydney have all completed their exit interviews with players across recent days. – Riley Beveridge"

There are leaks when things are a bit off, think positive everyone is pulling in the same direction for a change perhaps

Hope we get the drops of good news to keep the positive views in the media I don’t care who gets it first

Can’t remember which journo, but they reported no one asked for a trade.

Maybe there is nothing to leak in that list decisions havent been made, waiting for the new coach.

As reported exit interviews (including those still playing VFL finals) have occurred and allegedly no one has requested a trade at this point. To my knowledge those out of contract are aware of the likelihood of where they sit whether definite delist or wait and see subject to trade period.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
