Have you noticed that Howes and Petty are off?

my point is why did we go so small in defence everyone said that when teams were put out

Yes well of course this was a mistake. Dropping Lever and JVR and replacing them with Jefferson alone is woeful

That is poor umpiring

We got too close

A brief slither of light just stamped out.

So quickly

Blink and you miss it

Reminiscent of our few years as a good team

So Howes and Petty injured

Viney and May to be suspended

The worst quarter of all time in Q1

Think i’ve covered the main points

well we have no choice to debut one of adams or kento they should have played earlier on this season

We’ve become an undisciplined rabble …a shadow of the side we were … happy with the odd moment of individual brilliance

The Damien Hardwick school of thuggery really has been brought to the gold coast

May cannot be suspended for that

we've kicked more goals than points

just trying to be positive.

Play the kids Dub

Im at the 7 minute mark of the first quarter and no idea what the present score is. Havent read any comments.

Took us about 11 mins to get our second entry inside 50.

They've had about 10 and about 90% of time in their forward half. (Now 20 inside 50s to 6 with 1 minute left in the first).

Can't string more than about three consecutive possessions together.

Comtinually turning it over. Fumble city.

Indisciplined stuff still happening.

Coming off the bye and look dissinterested.

Zero energy.

Can't kick a goal to save ourselves.

One of the worst Vic memberships this season yes?

Aside from a May, Bowey, Kozzy and the odd Max contribution there is no spirit, fight, skills or white line fever in the bulk of this list.

We are not AFL worthy or worth watching and on the verge of becoming irrelevant once more if we aren't already.

The team and effectively the entire club is now in complete free fall and will need a complete review and most likely a full rebuild from the coach down.

It will be a decade or more before we become a serious finals prospect once again.

May should rack the cue and not come back. Cooked.

Snipers everywhere and umpire sanctioned.

When there is ZERO pressure on the ball carrier and the ball is coming in like that, nobody can defend the mark without infringing.

Whatever the fitness program is, it’s not nearly good enough

We need a new Fitness Team as well as many other things!

Our senior players don’t run. It’s not fitness

Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
