Well your 2nd point is wrong. Ginbey pushed Petty in the contest when he knew he wasn't going to impact. Petty is now concussed and there is apparently nothing to see? Ginbey who has done it before.

It's very similar to the mansel incident.

I really don't think ginbey had much impact on the collision

petty got to where he wanted and went up for the mark in pretty much where he wanted to be, and was collected from behind by mcgovern. Petty was vertical and not unbalanced before mcgovern collided.

Sure, ginbey had his hands in contact with petty but there was no actual push of any force that impacted petty. The collision with mcgovern was inevitable, with or without ginbey

Having watched that umpire live, she does not understand how players legally use their bodies to control space in the field. In multiple contested actions she called free's where none were present for normal actions like the clear mark by Melks. .

Without knowing her background, I assume she has never played competitive game at a decent level.???

This is becoming more prevalent. There was a free paid to Viney last week for a perfectly legitimate spoil from Taranto. Was such a bad call.

And my 2 personal bug bears.

1. Downfield frees. These have always been for a player getting hit AFTER disposing of the ball not during the action.

2. Taking out the legs. This is the Adam Goodes rule who used to slide front on to a player in a dangerous motion. Now players (ANB did this regularly) will see a player on the ground and theatrically dive over them to get a free kick. BS

Often, those that haven't played the game struggle to get the nuance of these (generalisation I know)

Petty was pushed back off balance contributing to the collision.

This was done by a guy who did much worse earlier in the year and got away with it.

Goody who rarely mentions incidents, certainly highlighted this part of it, asking the media how did Petty contact McGovern?
