GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle

Expect a better effort this week, would be surprised if we get much from Fullarton but at least heโ€™s tall. Turner Iโ€™m more optimistic about. Would like to see a score of 80+ to give some hope about the rest of the year.

Freo still win for mine, they beat us consistently when we were good so Iโ€™d be shocked to beat them when weโ€™re going like we are. If we can keep them <100 that would be good but May out makes that tough.

I hate this rap [censored] or whatever it is we first run out to.

Just play our theme song

And of course I plan to catch the 12:50, I get to the platform at 12:49:50 and the doors are closing... the train leaves bang on at 12:50. What is this [censored] leaving on time to the millisecond? I'll miss the first 15 minutes now.

Actually I've worked out why the speakers so loud. It's to cover up the lack of crowd noise when we run out

I have near zero expectation we can win this game today, which probably means we will.

We've got to turn it around sometime right?

Looking for some enthusiasm from big Tommy and Disco Turner always provides good value IMHO. Good to be getting some more games into the Kolt, Lindsay and Langford.

This is all about our pressure for me. I don't think we're any chance of winning (upsets do happen, but we don't match up against Fremantle well at all), but in a week where Goodwin's put the heat on us for being "easy to play against", we sure as [censored] better come out and do our best to make it hard for Fremantle.

A low pressure rating will speak volumes today.

Crowd looks.. bleak.

Kelli Underwood calling the game.........As if things couldn't get any worse.๐Ÿ˜ถ

Canโ€™t imagine we lose by less than 60.. their game style has consistently smashed ours, even when we had form..

Mind blowing she has a job calling games. Thereโ€™s been petitions to have her cancelledโ€ฆ sheโ€™s that bad..

Looks like goody has chosen to go back to coaching from the bench.

No may or lever down back worries me

petty forward, so turner down back??

Petty forward?

So we train all summer to have May, Lever and Petty in defence, and now with May and Lever out we decide to swing Petty forward again?

And Turner barely gets a crack at being a forward for us this year and is now going to (presumably) play defence?

Looking at positives we've been pretty good at winning the toss this year.

Mind boggling. But......desperate times call for desperate measures.

Could work. Disco was a good back before he was a forward. Think he's a better forward than Petty though

we just need to stick with and not change him and petty around every week

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
