Guerra with the drive by.

Oh yeah, definitely read it that way.

Not quite as much as Beamer Maloney's B & F speech back in the day where he said we were going places and if you didn't like it to [censored] off to Carlton (Mclean just left) but it makes the point!

Oof. That aged like milk, hey?

So given that Trac met with Melb the end of last week I would think that meeting wouldn't have included King given he would have been focused on the GF?

Just think it speaks volumes of his desire to exit if he hasn't even sat down with King.

I can promise you that Trac has spoken with King.

I know Geelong is a dump, but they still have access to the internet down there.

Don’t you think it should’ve been a face to face, not hiding behind a phone call?

So not long before Maloney left for Brisbane, then?

Not happy with Trac, but nothing can take away what he contributed to the club, and as @Jaded No More wrote, I think the club has given him the space to achieve the ultimate success.

I hope in time Trac will come back to the club and be celebrated as one of our legends.

You're right, Trac has decided he wants out because King wouldn't look him in the eye.

NOT EVERYTHING IS OUR FAULT!

No thanks, l know I’m bitter & old fashioned, but don’t forget what the club has done for him

A premiership, a huge pay check etc

It’s not like the Merrett situation where he’s given 12 years & nothing to show for it.

Decent humans see out their contract

Soligo is worth tempting to leave but the Crows won't want to trade him.

Coaches my local QAFL team. Legend.

This could get interesting, it sounds like we will not bend on our requirements (lets hope that is the case). I do not see Trac finding either Adelaide or the Goldie as being places he really wants to live in and this deal will be about his post football future as well the interim. It may dawn on him he is a Melbourne boy but without viable suitors in Melbourne.

Do we make a play for one of next years free agents now?

I can’t see any Adelaide best 23 player wanting to leave. Especially where they’re at/heading and to a club like ours. It would definitely bring some bad energy in that playing group as they look like a close unit atm.

"Would Adelaide be willing to trade their Toyota Corolla for a Lambo? It would be a tough call, but they may have to do it."

Thanks Pickers.

Soligo would be ideal but can't see the Crows parting with him. Fairly certain he's contracted long term as well.

I just don't see the Crows offering up any best 22 players. Reckon this ends up being done with the Suns or not at all.

I would just put a pin in the Trac trade idea if Flanders doesn't nominate us, i don't see a net win for the MFC unless it includes Flanders.

Trac requested a trade. Good from club point of view, as we still hold power with him contracted.

I don't really care what anyone else thinks. I'm a Tim Lamb fan.

Hardest job in footy managing a list when your ability to attract talent is critically hamstrung by talk of off field issues, no home base and poor crowd attendances.

Thankfully it looks like the club is finally on the way to addressing all 3

The only thing Trac would move to Adelaide for is being v good mates with ANB, and it's only a one hour commute home to Nonna. GC on the other hand, is very much closer to Noosa.

I agree we require the highest trade value or they can shove it, but the problem with it falling through altogether is we get another year of half-arsed CP. This year was bad enough.

Should asking the Crows about Sid Draper as part of the Petracca deal if he decides on the Crows. Has speed, endurance and good skills & fits the age bracket with Windsor, Tholstrup, Langford & Lindsay

Is he actually that close with ANB? I never got that sense.

Flights won't really be a factor you'd feel. Either way you're spending half your day in transit.

Adelaide is a footy mad state, without any real standout stars.

Trac instantly becomes THE STAR of SA if he goes there, and that suits the vibes. Especially if Butters heads home next year.

Nobody in Queensland cares about Trac. Hell they didn't move the needle on the scale of apathy when they got arguably the GOAT in Gary Ablett Jnr, so how does moving to the Gold Coast help further his off field career?

There is however a big TV and film industry in the GC.

Interesting to see where this lands

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
