Gentle flush run at Gosch's - more soccer and walking handball games, which the group seem to really enjoy.

Keeping in mind the "individual programs" qualification on the website:

Absent: May, Lever, Billings and Petty

Rehab: Lindsay - bandaging on his left knee, gentle work with the physio. Jefferson, hand bandaged and running laps, seems confident of a quick return. Hore, calf bandaged, not up to much.

Positives: Campbell, did some agility work with the physio, then joined the main group. Tholstrup and McVee in with the main group - both don't look too far away. Kentfield also with the main group. Spargo, coming out of protocols, also with the main group. Spirits, as always with these sessions, were high.

 

Was the love boat in the dock?

 

Teach them how to run and spread for 4 Quarters Goody.

Yep soccer will fix those oval shaped balls skills

Yep, soccer balls will fix those oval-shaped ball skills. They would have preferred if they put a car on the oval over 30 to 50 metres away with the windows down and try to kick the balls into the car rather than running around with soccer balls.

 

I love that Goodwin decided the players were allowed to train less this off season...looks like its worked a treat.

Now some soccer drills ffs why would you do less work on footy and play a different game all together? Have fun when we start winning, right now we need to work our butts off, how is that not front of mind with these people???


We will be ready if a game of soccer ever breaks out. I'll back us in.

I also think some handball practise would help. Rivers needs it. Maybe practise our kicking? As long as it doesn't interfere with the soccer that is.

I love how everyone assumes that just because it’s not happening in full public view, Goody hasn’t had plenty of tough conversations or that they aren’t practicing the game plan or their skills or that they won’t train hard this week etc.

And just to put everyone's mind at ease about these full time footballers, how long were these warm up/recreational games of soccer.

Seems like our wins aren't in public view either!

48 hours since you’ve been through a gruelling physical endurance test where you’re constantly being tackled at full sprinting speed by other massive grown men?

How dare you try to build camaraderie and cohesiveness through activities that let your body recover before you go through that brutality again just days from now. Ugh how disgraceful.

Yeah I take your point but I think recovery is mental too—I’m guessing a sports psychologist or one of the mindset people they brought in may have suggested a mental break (like soccer) might be a good way to change things up.

Starting to feel like we got hoodwinked by this review and have opened the door to a bunch of quacks. The players have training, what three days a week? And on at least two of those days the players are just bludging and messing around. At least the players are learning how to accept losing as we'll be doing a lot of that this season.

Yes, Windsor was in the main group and Goody mentioned in his presser that he expected him back this week. My guess is McVee is not quite ready.

Tell that to Darren Burgess I'm sure he would think about doing that.....at Adelaide.

I'll put my hand up, a month ago I was chirping on about how much room for improvement we have, should of known better after 45 years of this [censored].

Thanks Harvey Wallbanger for attending the training and updating us on who is back and who is in rehab, etc and what the boys are doing for rehab.😁👍

 

They came out in drips and drabs. Mostly seemed paired with another. AJ Henderson, Fullarton, Melksham, Woey, Brown, Turner, Laurie, Sestan, Jeffo running, quite a few in runners.

The main group with kick to kick, whistle goes and drills start.

The kicking drill executed at a high standard. Walking handball, flick around of the ball.

Plenty of team running, though at a subdued speed.

Tholstrup and Mentha a chance, as is Windsor. Great to see McVee in with the squad.

Lindsay into rehab, testing and personal program.

Melky up and running.

Culley, and Kentfield filling numbers at the moment.
