Davey Miller Robbo

Syvia XXXX Green

Bruce Mclean Johnstone

Rivers XXXX Frawley

Whelan Caroll Bell

White(maybe) Jones Bate

Int: Pettard Dunn Mcdonald(just) Johnson

Retired: Neitz Pickett Yze Brown Holland Ward Bizzel

Delisted: Godfrey Jamar Bode Hughes

Players that may be there: C Johnson, Buckley, Juice, Bartram, Molonry(depending on body), Garland, Hayes, Weetra

Fringe players Wheatley, Ferggy, Neaves

We clearly have the beginning of a great starting 22, and some good depth players, but just look at CHF, and CHB. Thats what we need to work on.

OVER MY DEAD BODY BRENNAN

you've named two centre half backs on the flanks and left the CHB position vacant. why dont u place rivers or frawley CHB and put in wheatley, pettard or buckley in the flanks.

basically, anyone can manipulate the team like you've done.

in terms of CHF, miller and Bate are both CHFs, why dont u put them in there.

imo, our two main concerns for team 2009 are fullforward post Neitz and the ruck post white.

the ruck position is improving with PJ, neaves and 2 ruckman to be drafted at years end...we should be alright.

for fullforward, we either have to draft one, or hope newton comes on. thats the worry, not CHB (rivers) and CHF (bate/miller)

We clearly have the beginning of a great starting 22, and some good depth players, but just look at CHF, and CHB. Thats what we need to work on.

1. You've got three talls in the backline. Why would you want another at CHB? Shift Frawley or Rivers to CHB and put Bartram on a HBF. No way will a fit Bartram not be in our 2009 best 22.

2. The hardest spot to fill will be FF. We'd better hope Newton comes through, or Miller learns to kick.

3. Shift Bate to CHF and put Moloney on the bench. He's also in our best 22.

4. Neaves won't necessarily just be fringe, if White retires end 2008 Neaves could be filling the role Johnson plays now, or he could even be first ruck.

5. McDonald could well be another retiree by end of 2008. He's nearly 31 now. BTW, he'll finish 2007 on 199 games.

6. Why delist Godfrey, just for the sake of it? He's doing a great tagging role now, is at least depth, and he's only 26. As an aside, Godfrey will play his 100th game in three weeks, against the Bombers.

7. I wouldn't give up on Bode or Hughes any more than Hayes.

8. Wheatley showed his value in the last few games.

9. Can't see Ferguson not being delisted by 2009.

Bate has been great at CHF the past 3-4 weeks, he look smore comfortable with the role he is currently playing, as I call it the Ryan O'Keefe CHF type player. WE have 4 tall forwards Dunn, Miller, Garland and Newton on our list, Miller should be pushed back to defense to play the current Dutchy role on the monster tall forwards, that deepends on Frawleys physical development, if he gets like his Uncle Frawley will play this role.

Will Whelans body allow him to be playing in 2009, Bartram would be in that back pocket. White will not be first ruck either, hopefully PJ can continue to improve and take this role. With White second ruck or even FP with Robbo at FF

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
