Selwyn instructed players to head for gym for a session with Tommy Turner the strength and conditioning coach. Suspect that's the main reason for players attending today as the ground training has never been so light.

Kolt injury still being monitored before a return to full training is decided.

Did they confirm his injury is back related?

Rather than elbows knees or toes?

As reported a light fun session - not even any running, probably because they will do an intraclub tomorrow at Casey.

Absent: McVee and Woewodin (just the other 41, no George)

Injury/Rehab: Culley in a moon boot, Hore's bandage off, but still just using one hand. JVR and Petty seem fine. Melksham and Spargo did everything and Kolt also joined the drills.

Apparently back at Gosch's next Tuesday and for the Captain's Run next Saturday

It’s his foot. Unless the medics have lied to him, that is. He says it’s his foot.

AFL injury report is hopeless they had it listed as back on Tuesday

Jai’s moonboot is purely precautionary because he has “a very minor foot thing”

His favourite Dees player growing up? Despite the media citing Max and Vines, he actually has never had a single favourite player, rather he loved the midfielders. Even as a little kid he’s always loved the midfielders.

Was he a Dee’s fan?

Through and through. Third generation of diehard Dees fans. His family is delighted he’s now a Dee. He admitted he was anxious about getting on our list but when it happened it was the best birthday gift ever.

Big thanks Ghostwriter, Demons1858, Demon Jack, Harvey Wallbanger & Kev if you are there, plus all posters and special comments. Pretty light run today, great to hear that Rooey, Petty and Spargs are all in full training and Kolt is back training lightly in boots and hopeful that Jai isn’t seriously injured.👍😁

Thanks K.C.

Glad he will be with Casey but was specifically referring to him (no longer) training with the MFC senior squad.

I reckon every boy dreamed of playing for his favourite team. (Probably girls now too!)

Sky, light, navy, cobalt or electric?

You reckon that will be open to the public Ghosty or just creep vibes through the fence?

All about bonding.

Most of the drills had a competive edge to it.

Golf with a footy, closest to the pin.

Group handballing, with one more ball than the number of contestants. The one handling two balls was out, last man standing gets the chocolates.

Snaps for goal off passes, two teams, first one to countdown to zero wins.

Two groups, handles ball then passes to end the set. First to finish wins.

Kind of juvenile, they were all regressed back to teenagers. Plenty of noise and excitement filled the paddock.

Now that the AFL list is complete, and the season is about to begin, I don't think we'll see Roy training with the main group again. First Casey match is against North on Sunday 23rd March at 11.05 am - makes it tricky to get to both games!

Unfortunately not open. Creep vibes through the fence will have to suffice.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
