It’s a very interesting situation, don’t forget LJ & Kozz shared a house together with Toby Bedford…

If this did happen, it would be pretty cool that we essentially got Caleb and Kolt for Jackson, then got Jackson back again. Losing Kos would suck though

I think we know why he wants to leave..

That was a brilliant post @dazzledavey36. I'm in stitches of laughter. The Melbourne players will be all over this big time.

Looks like he's forgotten the words to Happy Birthday.

Everyone is happy. So many happy people…

Just like that time I visited Singapore and an ad played before the movies about how the World Happiness Rankings said Singaporeans were unhappy but actually... Singaporeans are so happy! 😉

Isnt it correct that the interview also says he is very happy at Freo? But the headline did not include that?

Just seems another brainf@rt kozzie type moment.

Whatever the case, I find it funny that Freo now have a distraction, and over a player they stole from us. It's lovely.

Surely someone has to go stand near their race with a dees jersey with Jackson tapped onto the back when they play here? Would be hilarious

Wasn’t Acres essentially forced out of Saints in the first place for Hill? And then essentially forced out of Freo. They were offering him like 180k guaranteed or something crazy low like that.

Brad Hill went west and was back in Melbourne in a couple years though. Hogan and Lobb both ended up back east too.

Not sure about his time at the Saints, I didn't really follow his fortunes there. I did notice him when he played at Fremantle though and thought he had his moments. I have two Freo suppirting mates who liked him and were sad to see him depart. It is true that Freo lowballed him with a contract offer, I thought it was low $200K but I don't swear on that.

Anyways, glad we picked him up, handy player and had a knack of doing things in crucial moments that has made him a bit of Blues cult player [makes offerings to the shrine of Blake Acres in my living room] 🙏😁

I take this with a grain of salt considering where it's coming from but I do admit, I always found Jackson's folks very off putting.

I remember see her mum commenting on the MFC official Facebook page when he was officially traded and it had all the traits of a very controlling and toxic parent.

If true, very sad.

He is a wonderful talent and would welcome him back with open arms, albeit the asking price will be steep.

Love McVee and Rivers but I would rather see them leave before Kozy (noting this is wishful thinking).

As SWYL said, I'd rather we fight to keep all our WA talent, and get LJ back as well.

How we get LJ back without Kozzy, Rivers et al as part of the package I don't know, but maybe it's some future 1sts?

Potentially controlling mother not happy with the girlfriend who is no shy person

You do your thing LJ. But think long and hard about it

To be honest I don't blame them considering the age gap. Hope they keep it up long enough to get him back.

So was doing a bit of light reading about this on the actual facebook post and some of the horrible personal comments directed at Jackson and his girlfriend have been from a family member or other random, and yet it's none other then Jackson mum Melissa,  who is liking every comment that is personally attacking Luke and the girlfriend.

If I'm reading between the lines that says to me that there's been a complete family break down between Luke and his parents.

Just do the right thing and come back home Lukey boy 💙🤎

Yeah looks like he's had a complete falling out with his family. Interesting. I believe he bought the house that they're currently living in too.

Also apparently with a lot of his friends. Definitely legit reasons to want to get out of WA.

Mitch Cleary's story makes complete sense now.

Awfully cute of Freo though to completely downplay the situation but...

Clearly there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

Mind you after further digging there is a comment from Kelsey saying

"This is ridiculous. We love Perth. We love the club. There isn't a decision to be made. I'm just not going to cop this when someone is speaking out of line."

I'd have him back. We hopefully still have a good relationship with him. We need a ruck once Max retires. I'd give them future picks etc....

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
