Andy M-W is looking very agile and strong with 6 months to get full fitness back look forward to seeing him runaround in 2026. Well done Andy.

Just thinking that AMW looked prime to really step up before his injury. Loved his dare and can't wait to see what he can offer in 2026.

If all goes well with his recovery, I could see him pushing for Salem's role in 2026.

He could take Judd’s role as a shut down small defender, freeing Judd to play a more attacking role further up the ground.

A contract would help

That's exactly what we need I reckon.

Judd seems to me playing with a bit less confidence and a loss of step this year. Maybe there's a niggle thats holding him back but his kick to Fritta was a good reminder how good he can be if he backs himself to look for the tougher option. He saw that one so late in the ball drop but still nailed it.

Serious injuries will do that to you (see Bowey last year).

Surely. I mean, we gave Luke bloody Dunstan a contract.

Prior to his injury I had AMW as one of the breakout players for the season, I really hope he's able to come back in good nick. Surely he gets a 2 year extension.

Agree with most of the last posts, genuinely said to my old man last week that if the Judd murmours turn out to be true i dont think it is the biggest loss. With Windsor and Bowey you have two gun HBs, we obviously can't trust Salem's body and maybe he is one that moves up to the wing to be more a contest player like Brayshaw was and Lindsay goes back but AMW absolutely can be a proper lockdown defender, we let Cooper Harvey sit 4 on us for gods sake.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
