Where are the people that stick up for Bruces kicking?

Featured Replies

Call me paranoid but it seems to me that Yze Not So Magic and Condemned 84 are one and the same.

Evidence:

Neither can spell nor construct a sentence properly

They each write gibberish (look it up)

They share the same reactionary opinions despite a great win

They're both attention seeking

'Bruce is the worst kick in the AFL'. (No comment).

Have a warm Milo and go to bed you imbecile.

kicking for goal... hardly matters... every player has the yipps now an then...

so dont give me around that around the ground rubbish...

just a stat,

When Melbourne were dominant early Bruce missed three and Johnson two. If they'd been able to slot most of these, which were all gettable, it would have practically been "game over".

could not agree more... but untill people see this... i will continue to dislike brock more and more

thats what i'm trying to say, what does the only flaw in bruce's game have to do with brock??

No, there's plenty of clues out there, actually downright solid evidence that Bruce's kicking is [censored]. That's undeniable. That shot he missed on the run in the first quarter was woeful. The other misses weren't really surprising, so far has my confidence in Bruce as a set shot for goal sunk. As another poster said, the most annoying thing about all this is that he used to be a deadly accurate kick for goal and around the ground in the earlier part of his career.

As far as having a big engine goes, not denying that, but why was he played out of the goal square for almost an entire half of football. I will reiterate, Danners coaching baffles me at times.

As I've stated before, I wouldn't miss Bruce if he was traded but while he's a Demon, best of luck to him and I hope his kicking improves.

im most defiantly not the same person, i have never said bruce is the worst kick in the afl.

how am i attention seeking?

so im a imbercile....hmmm nice.

and i wrote this in a earlier thread so its pretty much against what Y_M

lets face it, i love bruce, he aint a superstar, that is bandied around way to much, yes he is a great player on his day a star, today his kicking was atrociuos and he needs to drop the ball closer to his foot, drops the ball way to high.

he never gets credit when its due,i admit he one of my fav players....and i can admit he has flaws

yet people cant admit brocks....

Clangers are part of Footy ! Thats why they take stats on it. Every player will occasionally do bad kicks and with the pace of the modern game that is more likely to occur.

Everyone noticed Bruce's today beacuse of where he was positioned on the ground.

P Johnson missed two easy shots at goal also, It happens they are human!

Clangers from a few games over the weekend

At 21 years of age, and with 50 games experience, please list for me all of Brock's glaring flaws?

He isn't perfect, of course not, but saying that you don't like him because other supporters can see Bruce's flaws, is just idiotic.

Classy Dees is spot on, they shouldn't be compared, and the only comparison that is being made is in regards to the captaincy.

And poor kicking or not, Brock is miles ahead of Bruce in the leadership stakes.

just a matter of opinion...

i will not settle for BRUCE NOT TO BE the next CAPTAIN

The difference between Johnson and Bruce is that the first has an accuracy problem that needs to be corrected, the latter needs to re-learn the fundamentals of a drop punt. This is the likely reason why Johnson gets overlooked in favour of Bruce.

Gee you're gonna find it tough when Brock is given the captaincy then champ. ;)

Bruce had a dog of a game, as far as his kicking went. Considering he was pushed forward to kick goals, that's a real dog of a dog of a game.

Still does a lot of clever things and you can't doubt his initative.

But damn, 4 behinds, no goals. We would all have been seriously filthy about it if we'd lost.

Still, kicking can be practiced. Bruce's 'x-factor' can't.

If he can get the kink out and stop mangling the bloody thing, he would be right back up there with the pre-crunch Bruce we all loved.

I think bruce will be the big improver against the tigers, very rare he has 2 quiet games in a row and will probably slot 5 straight :P

I think many are missing the original jist of the thread.

No one is really saying Bruce cant play !!! he can.. & on his day is very good ( not the superstar some would have him...but verygood )..

but ..

MOST of the time he is an absolutely ABYSMAL kick !!

Snap shots...all are forgiven.. thats their nature.. set shots or easy drun ins ought to be second nature !! for a champ ...he cant kick for nutz!! its just a reality

AGREE AGREE AGREE!

simply put bruce has hardly played as just a forward for quite a long time so he is a bit rusty in front of goal i mean crap didnt anyone see that 15 metre shot at goal from cloak now thats sh&t kicking. Perhaps bruce is playing injured too. how many times has he started up forward for an entire half. just my guess he is playing sore. cant afford to leave him out with all our other injuries. May be wrong.

Don't quite understand the whole debate over Bruce thing. He's a key player. Great hard ball getter. We need him. He's Melbourne through and through. I wouldn't say he had a bad day today. Par for the course really. I never expect him to kick a goal from a set shot. If he does its a bonus.

Ofcourse I hurl a tirade of abuse at him when he misses another gimme, but I'm a footy fan. What would you expect?

Truth be told, I don't give a monkey's f if you're one and the same poster.

You each share reactionary opinions and you each emphasise outbursts by posting juvenile messages in UPPER CASE under your posts.

I look forward to some actual analysis of games and players rather than kinder play.

More than happy to contribute to the dialogue btw.

Put up your hands last week if you bagged Cameron Bruce, or the week before? Go on put your hands up, because it's easy to bag a player once they have a down week, he and James McDonald have been out most consistent this year, regardless of whether we've won 2 games or not, they have been there trying their hearts out. Now those knockers can either get behind this club, or you can sit back like a filthy Collingwood supporter and bag every player that has a day off. Go to the snow for gods sake.

Ironic that Davey was turning the ball over a lot today yet our two worst kicks Ward and Godfrey were hitting targets lace out.

Funny game footy!

Ward still struggled to hit the target a few times - two occassions where he kicked it to a player but failed to hit them up on the full - but Godfrey's goal was absolutely brilliant. I was wrapped for him.

As someone said Bruce's shot was indeed embarassing and Davey just turned the ball over around the middle of the ground more than I've seen him do before.

No one should comparing brock to bruce.

Well said.

Anyhow the point-scoring that goes on every single week regarding people's opinions is pretty poor. If X has a good game there's a post calling for the 'X haters' to cut themselves for their sin while if Y has a poor game then we see the opposite. Do we watch the footy for the spectacle and the team or for an opportunity to show someone on the forum up?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
