Tom will play Game 240 v eagles this weekend.

He should reach 250 games by later this season. He was gone by end of 2023 but has been rejuvenated as a key defender role once again. His form in 2025 has been excellent.

Tom is still winning this one.

It's the fight of the century.

Father time is undefeated but here comes a worthy challenger!

TMac was 7th in the Bluey last year.

I reckon would be top ten currently, possibly top 7.

Tommy has had an absolute rollercoaster career with us.

From the depths of our slump in the early 2010's, to the false start in 2018, to a premiership player. From backman, to forward, to swingman, to forward to backman.

Honestly just a great servant of the club who at 32 is in as good of form as he has ever been. An absolute credit to his work ethic and ability to get and keep his body right.

Hope he makes it to 300, he certainly deserves it.

i reckon way higher

he's been more consistent than gawn, and other than plugger the backline star has been bowey, while chandler and - gulp - sparrow have been the best of the forwards

i'd go current top 3 of:
1. bowey
2. plugger mac
3. chandler

His effort in the 2021 Premiership to shepherd Spaz's long bomb through for a goal continued our momentum and was invaluable. I was lucky to be there and see it live from a perfect angle - unforgettable.

Also, let's not forget his 5 goals vs WCE with the final one having several players trying to stop him. It was a crucial win.

Does any job asked of him and does it well. Few signs of him slowing him up just yet. Seems fastidious in his preparation. Pity Oscar didn't match his achievements!

Pretty confident it'll be closer to:

  1. Max (by a fair margin)

  2. Clarry (strange I know)

  3. Salem

  4. TMac

  5. Chandler

  6. Bowey

i reckon max has had two standout games, and a couple of ones where his colours have been lowered

bowey and plugger mac have been very consistent, while chandler does all the little things that get votes from the coaches

Definitely top 5 this year, probably top 3. Bowey, TMac, Chandler have been brilliant from Round 1. Max has entered the conversation the last few weeks, but started the year slowly.

Where do you dream this stuff up ??? This is completely untrue.

TMac has generally been well liked by Demonlanders & one of the most popular players.

Short memory 🤨

Our best in rounds 1 and 5:

127 AF points (highest) v Giants: 24 disposals, 46 hitouts.

118, 22 and 49 v Bombres.

Poor rounds 2 and 3. OK round 4.

Also best last two weeks as you have said.

Bluey voting a bit difference - there can be large margins between 1st and 2nd in a game.

That's my recollection also. T Mac was and still is to an extent an awsome athlete. One of the few that could keep up with Reiwolt athletically and often kept him from impacting in games against us. T Mac was viewed as one of the elite defenders in the competition at that time, with his kicking being perhaps his only real weakness. Around that time, when we were struggling as a team on the feild, he could have walked into so many other teams, but chose to stick fat with the MFC and I have alot of respect for him for that (and I think Max and Vines would also, amoung many other things). He probably still finishes top 10 in preseason endurance time trials.

In the years since, I only think he has added more strings to his bow as a footballer. While he might have lost a bit of agility, I think he has significantly increased his physical strength from his younger years and become an excellent contested mark an, even better reader of the play and enhanced leadership presance. Although he may lack the agility to play as a full time forward, I feel he could still impact down their by pinch hitting and giving us a marking option deep if we needed a circuit breaker as he did a few times late last year.

Persoally, I have soo much love for Tommy as a MFC footballer and he'll go down as one of my all time favourites.

Also worth remembering the amazing year he had last season as well came off the back of his personal family tragedy of loosing a baby - would take amazing inner strength and resilience.

Give him a contract as long as he wants to be at the club.

I thought he was cooked after 2023. The way he's been able to turn himself around at his age is actually remarkable considering where his body was at.

I have no intel at all but I expect a contract extension very soon.

We are lucky to have Tmac, he's been great for us this year and last.

God send mate, he’s such a hard worker.

And of course he topped it off with the sealer after the final siren 🤗

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
