McLean- hope

Bate- hope

We are going places if these guys are leading us every week.

I saw Brock stand on the boundary line and curse in anger when the Crows kicked a goal in the third. That sort of passion from our players, is what will get us moving forward.

Johnson- gOOD bYE jAMAR

Johnson - Strong over-head

How good were some of those saving marks in the defensive 50??

and in the last he was telling bruce and the others where to stand and where johnson to tap it

pure leadership!

Godfrey-Was Rarely Seen

Can't believe im going to stick up for godfrey here but the less we see Godfrey the better...

He absolutley smashed Scott Thompson..

And how good was it to see every time Thomposon (Demon traitor) get smashed by tackels every time he got close to the ball.

Fantastic effort!!!!!!!

Daniel Ward - Very very sufficient

His kicking yesterday was worse than usual... although he is becoming slightly more accountable, which is nice to see.

Still, the kicking is really REALLY awful stuff.

I watched the replay this morning expecting to bag Ward for all his turnovers, however there weren't actually that many. It felt like more while at the game.

Creates great drive and pace out of defence but accountability is the problem.

Undecided whether he's best 22.

Been the crazy person that I am, went to the game, taped it, came home and watched it, people who didnt look like they were performing actually were doing little useful thing around the ground eg Ward, Sylvia

Brown - can kick and was everywhere he needed to be. Helped push forward at times did great work

Carroll - back to form

Bizzell - welcome back had some rough calls against him by the umps though

Bell - flawless

Wheatley - another welcome back (another risk pays off for ND)

Ward - costly errors in last quarter, good for three quarters though

Johnstone - not at his best, sharp kicking

McDonald - always one of our best no exception this week

Robertson - not at his best, needs a few more games to get back into it, magic goal though

Neitz - LEGEND

White - killed the ruck, was everywhere played excellent couldnt find a fault

McLean - not at his best, needs more games like Robbo to play his best

Davey - superstar every week

Johnson - impressed me solid performance

Jones - hard nut (clearly the umpires dont think he has a neck though he got so many high tackles was crap)

Petterd - improving every week

Jones - great early on

Anyone who watched him at Sandy knew he'll make it.

I think ppl have underestimate what a great game he had yesterday. The Jones Mclean/Brock Jones show is underway.

Undecided whether he's best 22.

Not even best-25 IMO. Pretty lucky we lack pace or he would have played far less games the past couple of years.

godfrey pasted his opposition player all day. did his job perfectly. what more did you guys want. He is never gunna dash from the backline and smash through the midfield but he did Dominate in his position. Underrated performance. Brilliant game Godders. (not usually a fan of his but i'm calling this game as i saw it)

imo he is not best 22. however he is a decent depth player who runs hard and breaks the lines and does offer us that element of pace we lack. if we have our best 23 fit and firing he wont be on the park. but we'll always ahve an injury or 2 so he will be always getting a few games. in all honestly i rather his poor but quick disposal than doggy brown stopping and propping and allowing the opposition to match up, but today brown had a job and did it well.

You should watch the last quarter again more closely. He did not hit one target by hand or by foot when he had pressure applied to him. He also did not contest with Welsh in a marking contest which resulted in a goal.

Its all great to say he didnt cough up his uncontested possesions but he is absolute liability IMO.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
