Really excited about tonight's game & how it will turn out.

You'd expect Port to bounce back, but hawks are pretty quick, frost is a loss but it's bruests 300th game which they'll be pumped for.

9 times in the first 11 years, but just 2 in the past 14 (so far). Still, an amazing stat.

Please win Port. Go Giants

Port better be on from the start.

Let this Hawks team have a jump would be hard to wind back.

I feel that because it's at home and the fact they won six in a row that Port can and will fight back.

I know I previously sang the Hawks strengths prior in this thread but I don't think last week's thrashing has ruled Port out.

Too much at stake and it's at their home ground.

I guess it's a toss up. Sums up this year's season.

Look at us ....we finished 14 th.

Won three of the games we lost by less than a goal and we would have finished 7 the and the Hawks 8 th.

It's tough.

I hate Hawthorn but I hate Port supporters much more.

Toothless mugs.

Why does the Afl say it's a 7.10 pm start but here we are still waiting?

Apologies.

Afl have correct weight at 7.40pm

Stupid footywire have it at 7.10 pm....wake up.

Port 40+ $10. Worth a tenner.

Good money for sure.

I'd check no chance of rain first.

But yea if Hawks finally burst it could be a flood.

How much did last week hurt port psychologically?

What do we call a tenner...

We have a lobster, pineapple and a watermelon ( I made that last one up but I'm sure I'm not alone.

Is it simply a Tenner?

Dixon out

And a little rain about. The latter probably favor Port.

I'd say the former as well.  He's been in lousy form and will probably retire this year.

Burton and Dixon....a few talls out.

Burton one of ports best against Geelong.

I reckon Port will win this. Could be a smashing but i’d predict a 4 goal win

They have to come out firing after this disgraceful performance

I hope the umps don't wreck this.

Port fans are such nuffies. I do hope they lose.

The fact is they finished second and got smashed at home. They should not be in this position.

Either way can't see port or Hawks winning next week. One limping in and the other exhausted from travel.

given Ports record in home finals you have to wonder why they haven't retired never tear us apart yet. Its a bad joke at this stage

The booing from Port fans really makes me support the Hawks.

I hope they tear them a new one.

Well a second new one after the cats work.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
