Cunningham. Marchbank.  Martin. All injured most of their careers. All talented but their injuries cursed their careers.

I wonder if we could give Marchbank a chance, perhaps as a rookie. Alternatively, keep a spot open in the list for the SSP and invite him to train with us.

If Tomlinson leaves and we don't trade for another established KPD, then we absolutely stuffed for depth in that position.

Isn’t he the one that lied about touching the ball that cost us that game last year

if so I’m all for it

we need to start cheating and get as dirty as the rest of them ! If you can’t beat ‘em….

We sniffed around Merrett a few years ago.

If he was at all gettable, why wouldn't we do the same to Merrett now?

given the lack of club nominated, i think we can infer it's the pear given that they're still 'live' in the season

looks like the houston move to the baggers is definitely 'on' then

What is with everyone wanting to move to Adelaide/SA?

I’ve been there, you’d want to really miss your family.

sa born-and-bred people love the place - literally call it 'god's country'

i loved there for about 15 years over two stints; great place to raise kids but very, very quiet except for 2 weeks a year when there's the fringe festival on

if you're an incredibly well paid professional sportsman i imagine it's a fantastic place to call home

Himmelberg worth a look?  26 and 200cm but I assume there is a reason he didn't make it as the Crows...

we can look but we better not touch...

off to gc17

Barrass, 28, remains contracted to the Eagles until the end of 2029

Sam Mitchell’s men have offered him a contract worth about $800,000 a season to move from Perth to Melbourne.

I am confused.  Does that mean any contracted player is available if the deal can be done? The Eagles don’t want to lose Barrass but the hawks have seduced him into wanting a change, with the lure of more $$$$ being a prime driver.  So can any player be approached irrespective of a contract ??? Hmmm

They must really rate him as an upgrade on Campbell.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
