Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Pavlich or draft pick

I think I read somewhere in the paper that Pavlich will stay with Freo if he thinks they're capable of winning a premiership. On that logic, the 0.01% chance we had of getting him is gone. We'll need a gun ruckman with our top pick if he's the best available.

considering our position on the ladder, Its a given we will get a high draft pick, Pavlich as good as he is, isnt the magical solution to solve our problems.

yeah, what's tough is that generally traded players aren't superstars, but 'top up' players that fit into team lists.

its an easy fix, and its the obvious one, filling up ones list with proved players rather than untried players. but it would be nice to see a real bigname traded to the dees, someone you know will dominate. because year after year watching the new kids come through, and raving about them before realising 4 years later they haven't improved much is begininng to get annoying!

What do you think we need to do Deno74?you do have a good understanding of the game

Pav is great, but he comes at a high price, 500K+ per year, plus players given up to get him to the MFC.

A pick will not always be a great plyer, but at 60k per year and no player movement it seems like the safer option.

I would give the Dockers

C.Bruce, C.Johnson and a 1st round pick

for

Pavlich and a 3rd ot 4th rounder

The Dockers do have a history of trade blunders, but something tells me that a bloke who can't break into a side sitting 0-8 + a versatile skinny bloke who can't kick and who turns 29 next year + a first and third round draft swap, won't land us the 2nd or 3rd best player in the comp.

True

Makes it all the more sadder that Bruce is one of our highest paid players, yet he is almost 30 and cant kick

Well done MFC

What I see is that we need another Tall Big Defender, It seems over the last few years that Ferguson, Bizzell, Holland, Wheatly and Miller have failed to secure a Position, either through form or injury. Maybe Cloke in the VFL he couldnt do any worse and would kill for another chance however I dont know how he is doing.

We also need another big man up forward to help our only two targets are Neitz and Robbo. And we need a CHF to Step up, Miller just doesnt seem to do enough or impact on the scoreboard, Fianally we need our midfield to play consistently without getting injured. Re: Brock and Moloney.

i'd stick with miller before i bothered wasting my time on cloke...

I wouldnt swap Miller either but Bizzells chance has seemed to pass or they would be playing him.

whys everyone getting excited about pavlich coming to melbourne?? he has said no he wont leave freo and first of all he is a first year captain and wants to win a premirship with freo. one man we should be looking at is Ryley Dunn! just as tough as brock mclean but quicker! has been touched by injurys for a long time and a new change would do him well. brother played bushies with him and reckons he is an out and out gun! plz MFC lets look at this bloke! only same age as brocky too

you haev all got the wrong angle...

cousins, judd, kerr and pavlich aren't going anywhere.

however the fact of the matter is, that if melbourne clubs are offering 1 million for them, then they would probably accept an offer of 800,000 to stay at the eagles.

this is still an enourmous amount of money for one player, and it will mean that they will have to trade off some lesser lights to afford it.

this is why we should be going for players like braun, brett jones, fletcher and seaby. 1 of them will be forced out due to salary cap pressure. we should swoop

Give me 3 or 4 picks in the top 20 and then use them in this way :

1. Tall, athletic ruckman (with a body you can thrown in the gym and get results)

2. Another defender in the mould of Frawley/Rivers but bigger boned

3. Strong utility who can play either CHB or CHF

4. Lightening quick Aboriginal boy with strong leadership (eg. Andrew McLeod)

If we were to do this then I would sleep very well on draft night :D

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
