This is doing nothing to give me confidence in the AFL’s ability to separate its financial desires from the outcomes of games.

Umpires have decided to break the deadlock.

Yep, I was enjoying this game until they stepped in. Can't blow the whistle fast enough against Tigers.

Carlton fans look feral

God help us if they have a good season. not sure i could handle it.

I loathe Carlton. And the gushing love from the commentators is making me puke.

Once again the umpires ruin a great contest

Nice throw Cripps.

He throws the ball all the bloody game!

I vowed to not watch any non Melbourne games anymore because I’m really done with the AFL.
My husband watching Richmond and I just snuck a peak and immediately I’m reminded what a corrupt piece of garbage this organization has become.

The AFL fix to get a Carlton flag is in full swing.

As if I need any more reasons to hate Carlton they just mentioned in the broadcast that the fat guy from Take That supports them.

That was a mark to the tigers player.

Umps have paid those all night.

I'd be livid if I was a Richmond supporter.

Vlastuin is BOG by a mile. What a game he’s played.

never believe a Carlton player when it comes to goal reviews.

That was a goal.

The ball changed its spin after it left Curnows boot.

That’s a wrong decision.

Putrid disposal is going to cost Richmond this game.

Why, they have been consistent, all frees to Carlton.

Absolutely pathetic umpiring.

The advantage rule seems to have not worked out.

So often umps are late with the whistle and players don't hear the call.

why did the ump call back the play there when the tiges had a good advantage

Gotta feel for the kid Gibcus... From memory we were very keen to draft him. Seems cursed.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
