I had this one typed up but forgot to submit. If you can’t squeeze it in @Demonland I understand. Can ask it next week:

Schache kicked 2.1, had 9 disposals and 4 marks. As @binman touched on last week, because he’s a great shot for goal he doesn’t need a lot of chances to impact the scoreboard. Would you be satisfied if he had 4 marks and kicked 2 goals every week?

I'll allow it because we already have a Schache question and I can slot it in with that one without mucking up my run sheet flow.

Sure, which former Dees player could we most liken Caleb Windsor to, even though it's early days?

If you are old enough and watch how he handballs left handed the answer should be rather obvious

How did you rate Blake Howes game?

My sense is he will learn reasonably quickly what his strengths and weaknesses are and adjust his game accordingly at the top level - can he make it at AFL level (I’d say probably yes)

In the meantime we may see some goals leak if he stays in the starting 22

Just my opinion be interested in your thoughts

Judging from the flag could be Bulldogs but Dees an outside chance.

Nup, not TJ.

TJ is an all time fav of mine, and funnily enough would probably suit footy cira 2024 better than when he played with the importance of wingers. And i can see the comparison.

But whilst a smooth mover, Windsor strikes me as less, how should i put this - urgent? (was going to stay stoner like) and perhaps more hard it than TJ. And not as fast as Windsor.

Also, admittedly from a very limited sample size i'm not sure if Windsor is as good a kick as TJ, perhaps with Wattsy, the best kick i have seen at the dees.

I can’t agree that Caleb is less urgent that TJ who I remember as about as lackadaisical as JW4.  Caleb seemed to have a lot of urgency.

Surely the devil incarnate would support Demons, unless he perceived them as a rival or a threat, in which case he would quickly dispatch them to Pyongyang central slaughterhouse.

Weird typo by me.

I meant more urgent.

Tj was the anthisis of urgent.

You really turned me on the bump issue.

I guess footy for me has always had an element of blood lust about it.

I started following in the dirty days of the 70s so I've seen a bit of biffo.

But lately and hopefully older and wiser.... ( my young 19  yo son plays basketball) ..I would hate to see him in trouble.

And since it's not my head on the  "chopping block" who am I to expect others to do so.

But when you call it out for what it is as brain trauma it really makes you think.

A dear family friend of ours in her early 20s who played aflw with a history of concussions can now no longer play. She has been devastated by this loss of livelihood and passion.

Will we miss the bump. Maybe . But footy will survive and will still be a wonderful sport to watch.

Well called.

Hot to trot; big future at our Club, unsettles experienced opposition and prepared to play on for better options upfield.

Hot to trot ?
Didn’t seem to unsettle experienced opposition last week ?

Not saying he won’t make it but I think you’re getting just a little bit ahead of yourself with this one

Good points Deever.....what we are used to doing and seeing is no longer acceptable, as we now know the damage concussions cause.

I was chatting to a fellow Demon supporter who was also a boxing coach.  I am no fan of that sport, but he pointed out the disparity of rules in boxing around KO/concussion, and that of the AFL.

KO with loss of consciousness for less than 1 minute = 90 days no sparring or fighting

More than 1 minute = 180 days

2nd loss of consciousness after return from previous = 360 days

1 KO  no loss of consciousness=  30 days

2 KO no loss of consciousness = 90 days

3 KO no loss of consciousness = 360 days

For such a brutal "sport" they actually take proscribe more care than the AFL with its lousy 12 day respite.

We may not like it, because players won't be allowed to play, but better that than more Brayshaw, Barnes, Smith, Frawley situations....

Thanks for the unsolicited advice. I still reckon he performed well; I still reckon that he will go further, improve and be better than most opponents. Kind regards.

Thanks Andy, Binman, George On The Outer and all posters some great questions and responses, we are definitely champing at the bit to get this season going and wow 9 players under 23 possibly in the starting 23. Sad to hear that Woey is a bit banged up, still a couple of weeks before Casey start their year.!!

Is it  chomping?( from horses) I

Your right....Im betting autocorrect here as champing is also used. Not sure if I spelt that correct though.

And yes Deezone, I'm so excited footy is back.

Seems like eons ago, last season.

Neither chompimg nor chanting.  Champing is the word, as you say from horses. (Though I see chomping is gaining currency.)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
