Seems strange that Jake M has lost his number because he is a rookie.

He maybe placed on the long term injury list?

I couldnt remember all last years numbers (I normally pride myself on it) and I googled MFC player numbers. Most hits showed new players with or without numbers, but only current list. it was no surprise to me that MFC website showed all the last years players and numbers.

thought I saw Petty but think it was fake Petty (Jed Adams).

Adams, Verrall and Sestan have all made physical progress

Might be nothing but in a handball, handball across half forward then kick to leading forwards inside 50 drill T Mc started as a defender.

3 new young guys watching with Choco now

Great to hear Clarry is back at training. i had thought he’d take the rest of the year off. hopefully he is feeling good in all ways and rejuvenated

Josef is here doing some individual drills that would roughly rhyme with soot jihad

The two burning questions of the day

1- is Clarry there?

2- how does Petty’s foot look?

Neither are here, try new questions

Also, still showing the players that left.

The Ceduna sun may have fixed him up..dried him out ..hopefully put his step into gear…forward march

Joel Smith?

Cannot be there- suspended

New fellas joined in the second rotation of that set of drills.

Koltyn seems to be pursuing a strategy of following Tracc everywhere.

Kynan had a couple of inside 50 kicks that looked good.

Windsor had some nice one touch gathers. Might be because he’s dressed like an 18 year old girl about to hit a wall King street nightclub but he seems to have really long arms

From the new veterans for want of a better word: Shane Mc looks comfortable out of the square and snaps on both sides.

Fullarton has a tan that won’t survive Melbourne winter

K Brown 41

Same number his dad started wearing in his MFC career.  Nice.

Never seen a set of heads like the class of 2023.. gee I hope they can play

Cold tin just kicked a checkside over the fence and possibly in to the sun.

It hasn’t helped, the weather is still foul. I’d have the trade request in by the end of the day if I didn’t think 40 degrees in November was far worse

I'm just reading on the AFL website that Collingwood will start their preseason at Gosches due to resurfacing works:

What the actual [censored]? Please don't tell me we're stepping aside to accommodate those [censored]. I don't give a toss that we have Casey to train at. They can [censored] off somewhere else.... preferably Bairnsdale

What have you got against Bairnsdale? 😀

The Collingwood players should enjoy Bairnsdale. It would put them close to their supporter base at the Fulham Correctional Centre.

Petty is definitely there according to Melbourne's social media posts

100m or so boundary timed jogs for the young boys.

Longer, quicker runs for the main group up the middle of the ground.

McAdam, Sestan, Gawn with the 2nd year talls in the slightly shorter distance group. KFW is leading them out well

Laurie, Judd, Spargo, Bowser maybe some others and with some effort the Tracc are in the group doing the furthest by a few extra metres. Obviously many of the best runners aren’t on deck today.

Everyone out there looks good tho

Absentees from the track (not all required at this session of course):

Chandler

Oliver (maybe still with Kade in SA?)

J Smith

May

Viney

Brayshaw

Hunter

B Brown

Petty

Kosi

Langdon

Schache

ANB

Tomlinson

Tmac moving freely - nice to see. Fritta did not join the group - rehabbing, but didn't look serious.

All the draftees and rookie picks were there, plus Fullarton, McAdam, Billings. Marty Hore, fit and firing, like he never left...

I thought I saw him on track but certainly wasn’t in any drills after 10:30, in fact I’d say it’s likely he was either in the tent or in aami

I thought I saw Petty but then realised it was Jed Adams.  Reckon social media had it wrong.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
