Ripping the soul out of football

Just a quick note to the (bad language edited by mod) of a bloke who had the gaul to have a go at my mate and me for yelling too loud in the medallion club today. (I know is shouldn't have been there to begin with) We are 0-6 and the boys are having a red hot crack when this clown came up and asked us to 'quieten down' and respect those around us. Mate, edit off we are supporting our team through hard times and i will SCREAM week in week out regardless. We have both been to all 7 games so far and as a supporter and member will give our boys the support they deserve, especailly when they put it on the line like today. STOP RIPPING THE SOUL OUT OF FOOTBALL.

Was this bloke a Telstra Dome official? Or just some random?

As for telling people to quieten down, it should only happen if the stuff you are yelling out is intense profanity. There are children around, and its not nice to hear it. To some extent, parents should expect their kids to hear bad language at the footy, yet some people do take it too far.

It was a telstra dome official for 'yelling too loud'. No profanities, i understand football is a family sport and wouldn't bring myself down to the level of collingwood supporters by blatantly offending. They already have a strict dress code, maybe an impending decible level is next.

HaHaHa. Maybe they should make supporters wear neutral colours to the footy as well, so not to offend other supporters.

I'm with you on this one mate. We had two Bulldogs "people" sitting infront of us in the Melbourne Cheer Squad area today.....why they sit there in beyond me, and then they wander why trouble starts or fights break out. I've been to all 7 matches this season too, and me like you is cheering loud and hard, and I'm not about to stop. If anything, I'll get louder.

Go Demons!

Good on you for supporting. As for the official, to bad he wasn't up on the third level where we were regularly treated to the word you have used there (but without the asterix) as well as racial slurs directed at Aaron Davey.

Can't wait to get back to my seat at the 'G'

I reckon all the Demonland guys on here should sit together at these designated away games and really pump the crowd up. The opposition will stay away from us. <_<

Just a suggestion...

I sat on the wing in the third tier today.

Surrounded by WB fans, but it seemed like it was the same everywhere except @ our cheersquad area.

One thing I hate about TD is that when there are only 25K there you are still sent to the third level.

Yelling and supporting too loud? How else are the boys supposed to hear you when they're 150metres away? Sheesh!

Probably a good thing that official hasn't seen me in the past, i had a random Carlton supporter at the final last year vs St Kilda who was at the game with a friend commend me on the volume and support i gave for the boys.

Then again, earlier in the day she said "Who's the old man wearing number 9 for Melbourne?"

great call

if we decided a bay to sit in against any team, we'd tear the place down and lift the noise up an extra notch. not to mention get other dees fans up and at it. always through of making a hardcore section of dees fans that don't shut up the whole game

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
