Redleg, if Melksham wants to play on next year I reckon we would be mad to not keep him on the list. He is exactly the sort of bloke to have driving his team mates in rehab, is a strong leader both on and off the field, and will create competition for spots in our 22 in the second half of the season. If word re McAdam's willingness to work hard are true then I cannot think of someone better than Melksham to encourage him to make the most if his short career is ideal - the bloke who missed years in his prime due to the Essendon doping program, didn't play in our premiership and did his ACL on the eve of this years finals campaign.

We can have that by making him an assistant coach, developing youngsters at Casey and maybe even playing for them, if he is able towards the end of the season.

Oh is that what you do, is it? Go walking the streets of Adelaide asking random people what they think of Shane McAdam?

Is everyone on the streets of Adelaide talking about the McAdam trade?  I knew it was a bit boring there but that is a surprise!

What's the difference between doing that and big footy??  Just people and their opinions.

Bigger sample size for one.

Well I guess the big difference is that you’re NOT actually walking around the streets of Adelaide asking random people their opinions on Shane McAdam, and the other thing is a collated list of actual opinions from a large amount of random Crows fans.

So you have been on big footy talking about every dees player you are happy is gone?

Crows fans that don't care about McAdem going won't be on there.  So all you are getting is one side.  The people I talk to which comes up almost everyday at work or social events are not prompted by a forum.

And some do rate him, but most don't and couldn't care less if he goes

Nope, I don’t have an account on BF

That would be my whole point.  The sample size is one sided

But they are Crow supporters who are not happy to lose McAdam.

I’m a little confused now

Trav, unless you are a state politician, kissing babies your sample size is small. Even if you are a politician, your sample size is small.

Does SA have a social scene? 😳

And big footy is a bunch of Crows nuffies who think a 50 game player is worth Petty.

Weidemen had played 50 games and kicked over 60 goals at the end of last yr, but not too many Dees supporters saying he is a gun and will make a top 4 fwd line

A bit like Grundy being worth pick 11. Even if Sydney are given a pick back…

Possibly on Big Footy!  Not many on here think that

Nice dart throw Johnno.

The amount of drivel and filler thrown about this time of year from every media 'expert' is truly nauseating.

And now, see 'Melksham set to play on in 2024' thread. McAdam to be one of his projects: 'C'mon, son; make it hard for me to get back in the team!'

McAdam for a future 3rd round is the right deal. He’s not in Crows plans and wants out. Not in their view of a best 22 player.

Nor in our B22

That’s ok. Best “27” imv … that’s why future 3rd round (pick 54 ish in 2024 draft) is the option.

Pick 39 for Jordon. Feels about correct weight for McAdam.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
