Surely no team can come back from 4 and a bit goals down with just 7 minutes left

I see what you're doing there! They can

JUH to the Eagles is my guess

They will land a very big one in the next two years

Dogs can't go anywhere with their defence

Naughton makes more sense as a WA.

But isn't Brad Scott the greatest coach since Chris Scott? This isn't making sense.

When JB said that I said don't compare Essendons players to our players. Then I remembered they actually beat us

Essendon are putrid. Their midfield is full of small bodies, they get monstered. Stringer is fat. Won’t make finals.

Channel 7 already protecting the twin, they are a WIP and Essendon fans should feel hopeful 🤢🤢

Stringer and Darcy as ruck, the fattest duo in the guts.

I don't listen to the commentary

Now back to the cricket and see what the Aussies can do

Good start to the weekend with them losing.

Weightman just took a mark with 3 Essendon defenders around him & not one went near him

Difficult keeping them both and English plus they wasted money on Lobb

to all the people that were worried about the Top 4 Bombers?

they are choking cheats and always will be

And so say all of us

heres to 20 years of the those essendon [censored] not winning a final!

in 2 years i reckon Hagen and Naughton will be the best fwd line in the comp

You can go ahead and put a red line through your furrowed brow now mate!

Bont is a great player. But when he dropped an easy chest mark which resulted in an Essendon goal, the commentators said nothing. Even when it was replayed. No such treatment for Libba when a handball was intercepted and similarly resulted in a goal.

What's happened to shepherding? Seems to be a long forgotten skill.

I hope that JVR follows JUH's rate of improvement. He's a star.

I wish we'd recruited Peter Wright.

Stringer ... lol

I don't like Weightman much, but he's a pretty good player.

I was going to say that Essendon were a pretty ordinary side, but they're worse than that.

Might head over to the Essendon Bigfooty forum for some light reading.

Makes me sick we lost to the Bombers this year. How the hell did that happen?!

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
