Bombers getting pantsed. What a shame.

Yep. Had a conversation during the week with some Essendon supporting relatives. They were bemoaning the AFL not switching the game to the G. I pointed out the fact that they had only been to Geelong 5 times in the past 33 years as opposed to our 25 visits. Their response was that there was a reason why them Pies and Carlton did not play there, inferring the “big” club mentality. They are arrogant entitled supporters who think they are bigger than the game. GAGF.

Maybe they didn't remember how to find the ground?  Probably haven't been there since the building of the Werribee bypass.

Brad Close looks a bit like Gomez Addams.

I hate seeing Geelong in 5th place.

And hate admitting that Tom Hawkins is a great KPF

Curious, why do you say that? From my perspective, those 7 players all get a week to rest, recuperate, and get some time off, to avoid knocks (and then ON) in to the legs... They had to fit it in somewhere once Top 2 was 'sewn' up, at least hopefully from their perspective.

Another 5-7 will come back (and out) this week and freshen up some others without losing continuity.

We'll still beat them though :)

Because they are not a side that has performed well in finals in the last decade. They had a terrible season last year and they seem to have found their mojo again.

While they think they have top 2 in the bag, and they need a home final or they’ll fail again, the reality is that they don’t. They have some very tough games still to come, and flirting with form and getting absolutely smashed by a middle of the road side in the process, is not ideal preparation for finals.
There’s a reason very few teams do that. Rest and manage 1 or 2 players, for sure, but the impact of changing a third of your side twice in two weeks is a big one.
Now seems to be the time when the real contenders ramp things up. Port seems to be doing the opposite.
If it works and they go on to win the flag, all power to them. But history suggests this doesn’t end well.

The ladder looks about right to me. Geelong look to be a class above sides like the Dogs, Bombers and Saints, but haven't had been as consistent as the sides above - and are only 5th because they have the most difficult ground in the competition.

Not watching (or listening) for that sole reason. Are they talking about one of the player’s relatives that runs the local fish and chip shop or making references to where a player went to school and how they are related to a sister’s, cousin’s,best friend’s boy friend who saw Ferris pass out at 21 flavours last night 🙄😜

Pretty much

Himmelberg just put Essendon back in the 8.

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.
