How's Taj Woewodin and Josh Schache going?

commentators talking about the possibility of Daniel Turner looking elsewhere to get a game are obviously oblivious that he's signed until at least the end of next year...

‘Oblivious’ describes some of the commentary too. Guy from the English midlands either needs a spec savers voucher or needs to do his homework before the game commencement. Misidentification bloopers going thru the roof, George Grey is not Ben Brown.

Turner has legitimately said 'I deserve a regular go at AFL level'.

Good on him.

who for tho?

at the moment our backline is over-indexed...

talls: may, lever
mid-size: hibberd plays tall, rivers rebounds
smalls: salem, brayshaw, bowey, mcvee

that being said, turner has been clear bog this game i'd say - only player he'd replace would be one of the talls or hibberd, and even then i'd probably go tomlinson to replace may if needs be

Who is doing the camera work on the coverage, it’s hard to focus?

Must have been on the [censored] last night. Serious case of delirium tremors.

But Petty has been playing forward. Turner needs to come in as a third tall. The issue is that he isn’t that big. He got smashed by Casboult in one on ones. So he either comes in to play the Lever role, or he comes in to play on a more agile player. Petty as a defender is very physically strong and has the height to go with most key forwards. So he isn’t really a replacement for Petty down back.

Pig, May, lever and disco?

Can Hibbo play as a second/third tall?

Maybe Bowey comes out injured, Disco in, Lever freed up. Salem and McVee can play the Bowey role. We were playing 3 talls with Petty, and Lever looked better as the third tall. It's worth a look.

Casey look so unlike themselves compared to last year...

Shoot out at the Casey Corral.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
