With the country family membership you get one free ticket (per family member) to an interstate game in which Melbourne is playing. This is that one game?

Regardless, try to get to the ground really early and if you have an issue PM me and I’ll see if my DA BFF can do something to help.

I used mine for this one but Josh can use his at the Suns game.

If nothing else he can be one of those guys they interview at half time in a polo.

Need a big night from the local Brissy Demons as the Lion players are gonna come after HP big time i reckon.

Likely to get pretty willing early me thinks and he'll be a target throughout the match.

Hope the boys are mentally prepped for this to happen

Unfortunately, I can’t see a big crowd there tomorrow night. The new NRL team (the Dolphins) are 3-0 in this, their inaugural season. They play the Broncos at the same time as our match. I imagine that game will pull a big crowd. I reckon many Lions fans who would otherwise attend our match will probably choose to attend the NRL game.

Well just like Beard in this forum who predicted all doom and gloom about our crowd last week vs Bullies ( a very respectable 48,103 with at  least  38,000 or more Dees fans ) WCW the fact is nearly all tickets have been sold. On AFL 360 Monday night GW mentioned that over 30,000 tickets had already been sold and only 2,000 remained.

While no doubt there are some fans that attend both codes there is not necessarily a huge crossover on nights like this. Also a reasonable % of the sold out Lang Park crowd are new team Dolphins new fans as it is their home game. Broncos fans have ensured its capacity of about 53,000 reached no doubt. ( 3 weeks ago the Dolphins drew 34,000 to their opening game at Suncorp I believe)

WCW Brisbane's population is over 2 million people and if you add Gold and Sunshine Coasts at least 2.75 million. They are very enthusiastic about quality sport in their city even though their Test Cricket crowds are probably  behind Adelaide and Perth.

All in all about 85,000 could attend both games tonight so that is  equivalent to the 86,000 Which attended the Cats/Pies blockbuster last Friday night.

Pretty damn good for about half of Melbourne's population.

The  wash up of fans could well be  Broncos 30,000 Lions 29,000 Dolphins 23,000 and Dees 2/3,000.

A balmy 25deg is predicted at first bounce just hot enough for you to be on top voice WCW and our team in peak form to trounce the home team who generally are not tough enough against our champion bulls on the ball.

PS I have lived in Brisbane 30 years on 28 April (which it has doubled its population in that time ) after moving for work in 1993.

Didn't stop me from being at the G last Sat to enjoy one of the best and most enthusiastic Demon crowds support our team and start their redemption ride in 2023 for the 2023 Flag.

Go Dees and HP will be alright .

Thanks 58er. Got our Fisherman’s Friends and Red Bulls and we’ll be good to go. I’ll probs be delirious by game time since I haven’t slept. But a second wind will work wonders (maybe a 9th or 10th wind🥴).

Cut to me nana-napping at quarter time using a flogger as a pillow😁

GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!!!

Pulled from the website information;

Interstate members can apply for 1 free ticket to a game in their state if Melbourne is scheduled to participate.

Considering we live in Victoria I assume that means either Etihad (or whatever it's called now) or Skilled Stadium (or what ever that's called now 🤦🏽‍♂️)

Ah well looks like we are lining up 😂

You live in country Victoria. In regards to your membership It’s the same as being an interstate member. So that doesn’t apply to Marvel, nor the ‘G (you get to attend five matches at the ‘G anyways). So this match is an option for you.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
