  • Demonland changed the title to Alan Richardson on SEN (3/3/23)

Let me guess:

  • Happy with Grundy and how he's fitting in. Working well with Max - and will build during the year
  • BBB close to injury free for the first time in 47 years
  • All the boys in rehab progressing well, some better than anticipated
  • Connection is important and the playing group have a strong focus on that
  • Delighted with Hunter and offers us a real chop-out going forward into the space
  • Kossie is not being pressured and he'll sign when he's comfy - and we are comfy with that - and Port are comfy, Kossie's accountant is comfy as is Mrs. Kossie
  • JVR is being monitored and we won't be rushing him
  • Kossie is stepping up and will spend more time rotating through the middle - offers us a real change-up in our structures
  • The Dogs are a strong outfit - we have a lot of good games against them and really respect them. They'll came hard at us in a couple of weeks
  • We'll look a bit different with Jacko going back to Perth - but we'll structure a little differently and Grunds offers us new flexibility going forward
  • Yeah nah, we're pretty confident that if we stick to our game style and play the way we wanna play and get the game on our terms, exiting the fat-side of the ground can become a real weapon for us
  • Kicking for goal is something we've been working pretty hard on at the footy club
  • The footy department are pretty sure that if we just go out and play four quarters of good footy each week we can get the chocolates

But of course nothing will beat Alan Jeans' observation after Horethgorn had won yet another preliminary final in the 1980's

'We were just happy to get the four point today."

Typo

He is a very dull speaker. I don't know if we are going to win the flag or the spoon, such is his enthusiasm

But I suppose his job now is to manage the footy department and I can't possibly fault him for the work he has done.

Interesting to note when talking about Kossie's position, that Richo mentioned Jason Cripps the PA list manager and not any other of the WA clubs or Crows. Not sure PA have any currency to bring Kossie in, will take at least 2 first round picks and something else. Thoughts ?

I’d call it measured.

Cornes is clearly going to bat for Port and Richardson was implying whether Corns was now Port's list manager.

A cheeky dig on Richardson's part.

We have two monotone footy leaders and one Choco Williams

The balance is about right

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
