I need to re watch the game but was it Jack Higgins who McVee took a strong one on one contested mark against?

It was very impressive.

What gets overlooked with McVee is his toughness.  He's physically not huge, but he has a real crack.  He has genuine class, very good kicking, he's evasive and he has nice speed, which is at odds with an earlier comment in this thread.  There's a lot to like.

As the rehabilitating Whispering Jack reminded me, Judd was All Australian Under 16, so he is no dud.

Maybe had an underwhelming NAB year, but he was very good on Friday and looked right at home.

With Salem out, a spot may have opened for him. He can play.

Is he another JT success about to arrive?

Was pretty impressed from what I saw.

Hits his targets, I think he'll be pushing for that spot.

Yes agree.  He looks like a natural half back and had good composure for a youngster.  Looks like he can develop again at Casey but wouldn’t be out of place if he got called up.

Based on my earlier - albeit somewhat circumspect and tentative! - posts, I now feel borderline entitled to attach the 'my boy...' label to Judd. I've always wanted to be a footy seer 😄

I saw a fair bit of him at Casey last year & thought he was pretty ordinary. His form last week was a revelation and I hope that he continues to prove me wrong.

I like the current highlights and he has grown from 182cm to 185cm but he looks taller and stronger.

His disposal was elite in the highlights.

I think last year his form was solid but not flashy now he has confidence in his ability to take the game on which makes his game better.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
