No at a night with Lever & May at the Sporting Globe Bar. Good night and you get an insight into their personalities and what makes them tick as well as some goss.

Two questions re the Sporting Globe Bar

1/ what was May drinking?

2/ was Melk there?

Surely the f.ck J.Smith (44) is not playing defence again , the selectors must be sh.t scared to try something out of the ordinary. Probably trying to cover their arses.

Melk wasn’t there and May was on the lemonaids.

Interesting to see where Joel lines up. Steven May said he would be playing forward on Wednesday night in answer to a question about our lack of tall forward options.

With a little over an hour to go before today’s game, it’s worthwhile mentioning that Casey’s closest rival Southport is playing Collingwood at Victoria Park and is getting a bit of a touch up at half time.  Needless to say that it’s highly likely that the Demons are going to finish on top of the ladder and in doing so will provide useful back up to the AFL team’s finals campaign. In addition, this means that a few of the clubs younger brigade should get some valuable finals experience to assist with their development. The first round of the VFL finals are four weeks away and, although he’s listed as being still 6 to 7 weeks away, there are reports that we’ll see Tom McDonald in action with Casey at around this time. Watch this space.

Anyone know if Kade Chandler and the emergency(s) who went to WA managed to get back here for today’s game?

Highly doubt it, they took the red eye last night. Would've landed early this morning

But what about the emergencies? They could have left earlier.

A little pre match banter on the stream would not go astray.

Perhaps a pre recorded player or coach interview.

Wonder what the commentary will be like. I liked the Bulldog commentary last week except that the microphone levels of the two commentators seemed to be at different levels.

For all the complaints we make about the AFL this has been a great innovation

They’re off in the battle between the top of the ladder Casey Demons and last placed and  Northern Bullants. Kade Chandler is in the team so he made the red eye from Perth and the Casey team appears as selected.

Mitch Brown gets the ball off a pack and snaps truly the Demons’ first.

Looks like the mergencies did get back. JVR goals

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
